so how long does it usually take to get things verified at this time of the year?

the aamc site says 2-3 weeks. I am at two weeks since everything arrived and still not verified.

to give you an idea, my application was complete (all transcripts in) on the 12th and I am still not verified... so it is going a little slow right now.

now uve got me worried. i got them in on the 22nd... and ure 10 days ahead of me...
i want my secondaries.. god

I submitted on the 11th and mine just came under review today (not verified yet). So I'd say about 3 weeks now. As long as it's done before August, you'll have your secondaries in by September and you'll be fine.

Secondaries in by September is still considered early?

August is the earliest they even look at applications...i.e. when medical school goes back into session and the adcom returns to work. I'd say early August is the most ideal, but having everything ready by September 1st is still a good time. They won't even be interviewing students until September anyway, so you're really not too behind anyone else in the ball game.

So, does AMCAS wait until all transcripts are received before starting the verification process?

yes.

also, verification can take up to 6 weeks. I submitted last year in early july, and it took 4 weeks.

check out the giant AMCAS verification thread-- you'll get a sense of when people submitted and if they're verified yet.
