How long are DAT scores for, and what are my chances?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I will ask an academic advisor about eligibility to retake gen chem. For my school, they have recently changed a retake policy where if you got a C or higher in your major course, you are not permitted to retake (meaning if you passed, they won't let you retake).

I wouldn't retake gen chem. I recommend to take some more upper division biology courses to boost your science GPA until you graduate.

I think your best bet is to just either take chemistry II and get an A and show them that it was just a fluke, or like Demps said, just prove to them you can handle the upper level science courses by doing well in them.

I believe most schools want DAT scores less than three years old, but some may only accept them up to two years old. I would imagine it could vary on an individual school basis, so you might want to look on the website of those schools to which you are interested in applying.
