So I'm an IMG who will be looking for a job in Research in a few months and I was wondering, when working in one of these jobs how long does it usually take to get published?

We don't know, you'd have to ask the ppl that will be the PI's or primary authors on the paper. Sorry for the non-answer but the range could literally be 1 month to 5 years. It depends on your situation. No average time from other people's experiences would be reliable for your situation.

8 months 4 days for an AMG, but more like 14 months 17 days for an IMG, on average.

Echoing the above. This varies so much from person to person, lab to lab, area of research, etc, that no one can give you a reasonable estimate. The range would literally be days to decades to never.

Damn. Alright then. I didn't realize it was a bad question. lol.

Dude why the sarcasm?

I thought it was appropriate based on the question. I hope you gain an appreciation for research while you check it off your residency to-do list.
