I've been married for a year and a half. I'm loving life!!

Congrats on your wedding!

I've been married for 4 months...life is great but once I'm in Dschool and the babies start coming - I am probably going to be sleep deprived and struggling, haha

i can attest to the sleep deprivation for sure! lol.

'been married almost 4 years, the wifey & i just had a baby boy 4 months ago today. he's AWESOME.

Just about every mormon in your class will be married and then roughly another 5-10% of the class...so, maybe 20-30% of the class...that is how it is at my school anyways.

I've been married for about 10 months now, but my husband and I dated for almost 6 years before we got married. It was the best decision I've ever made!

gosh rollypolly
i got married after dating for 1 year hahahaha, but it was a good decision also

Been married for 3 1/2 years now. I have 1 girl and another one on the way I have no idea how I am going to finish Dnetal School without having a Heart Attack.

got married in July. I'm 29 and there's chance in hell I'm gonna even attempt to have a kid until I'm done with school.

Ha ha. I felt the same way as you. Wait until your wife has been alone for one year. Here I am two years into it, with a wonderful boy. It really isn't that hard to do both. You just have to be smart with your time and make the most of every second (so, no XBox ha ha).

ha! Thanks, but I'M the wife!

I can't imagine waddling around all pregnant in clinic and trying to work on a patient without my belly getting in the way.

married as well..almost 1 and a half year. My husband is a dentist..he claims he will help me out as much as he can..lol we'll see!!

Married almost three years. Have one year old daughter. She is the cutest thing in the world!!😀😀 She took four steps yesterday while my wife and I were cheering on. :hardy:

Well, we never would have dated so long before getting married if we weren't 15 when we started dating . I really think my parents would have had a cow if I would have gotten married at 16 or 17!! Even getting married at 21 seemed to be a huge deal to a lot of older adults that I talked to/gave me their opinion without me asking for it. But, to anyone that had a problem with us getting married so young I would just ask the question, "so how long did you date your spouse before you got married?" I always won that one 😀

I'm not married, and I'm sure this has been brought up before, but I was wondering how tough it is to give your girlfriend the attention she needs with school taking up so much time. I know I wasn't great at balancing girls and school during undergrad, but I also considered school to be way more important than any of the girls I was with in college. I know people are different, but I wouldn't mind hearing some stories. How tough was it for you guys?

If you thought undergrad was more important, wait till you start dental school

LOL. That is great. I bet that would be hard.

Getting married in a little under 4 months 😱

i see what you mean rollypolly

I was 20 when I got married... and my parents freaked out when I told them the big news hahahahah

LOL, this is EXACTLY what happened between my husband and I, down to the ages when we started dating and when we got married...

And we are ABSOLUTELY NOT considering having any children until after dental school. I cannot even imagine the stress...

Still single. Keeping my options open😀
You never know which hot babe you run into. If you commit to a woman and run into a hotter babe....:scared: 😀

I've been married for 5 years on the 18th! 🙂 We have two girls oldest is almost 4 and the other is just about 7 months. My kids are gonna be in high school by the time I'm done LOL

just one thing i would like to add.
if you guys are ok with it, say your age when you got married.
I got married when i was 20 😛

Been married almost 8 years now. Having an understanding spouse makes dental school so much nicer than having to go at this alone.

I agree. I made the mistake of letting my wife and kid go home a month early for Christmas so i could study for finals and I will never do that again. You would think that just having time to study all day would make a huge difference, but it really doesn't. I did study all day without them, but my grades weren't any higher during finals, and, for me, the support that they gave me everyday (that was now gone) was a huge hole. I do a lot better with my school work with them around. I don't know if it is because I can be more focused (having a partner to pick up the slack in areas that I can't get to during that time) or whatever, but dental school is definitely better with them around....even right now with him crying as I try to learn some pharm. 😀

I've been married for 1 year. I was 24 when I got married, my wife was 20. I can definately pinpoint the spot on my transcript when I got engaged - my grades improved dramatically.

I've been married for a little over 3 years. I'm 25 and my wife is 23. We have a 21 month old son and a girl due in April. I can't believe it! Before we decided to do dental school I asked her if she was okay being a single mom for four years. Well, we're going to school.

haha..crazy

My husband and I are definitely not considering having children either until after dental school. If you tack on the possibility of a residency, it could be a loooong time before we have kids. We just aren't ready in so many ways to have a baby. But, hopefully my sister will have a kid soon so I can ooh and aah at her baby and not have to change diapers 😀

I've been married for 2 1/2 years and we've got a little boy due in April. Its going to be interesting moving to Virginia with a 2 month old.

We were both 25 when we got married. Now .... 17 years, 4 kids and a dog later, we still like each other (which is much harder to do than love someone). And two of my kids will be in high school when I graduate in 2012!!

To all the married people who are going to dental school. You are very brave especially those with kids. Juggling family life and school is not easy, I wish all of you luck.👍

Been married for 4 1/2 years. We have 2 little boys 3 and 7 months. I studied for the DAT while they went to my wifes parents house. I didn't get anything done for three days....and I mean I barely made it out of bed. I went and joined them and got back in the routine, everything is better when you have the support that comes from a spouse. I was 21 and she was 19 when we got married.

I was 22 (1997) the first time I got married, he started med school in 1998, we split in 2000. I remarried in 2002 (I was 27) we are still married. I have a son from the first relationship (he was born in 1995) and I have a daughter born in 2005.
My husband, kids, parents, and even the in laws are very supportive of me going to dschool, and that makes a huge difference for me.😀

3 and a 1/2 years here. The best advice I can give to all of you newly newly weds is avoid free advice...everybody's different!!!

Married people sound a whole lot more mature than us who don't. I think it really gives you strength.

I just met an oral pathologist who was 34 when she started dental school with 2 kids. Graduated with a high rank in her class.👍

I was 23 and my wife was 19 when we got married in 2004 (so we're goin' on 4 years). We have a 2 1/2 year old girl and a 7 month boy. We plan on having another one a few years into dental school. We couldn't imagine life without each other or without our children. Having a family, for me, definitely ups my motivation to do well, just because I am responsible for them! My wife and I actually joke that life would be too easy, if we didn't have children!

Been married for 1 1/2 years. 22 when I got married and my wife was 23. No kids yet but looking forward to it.

Been married 3.5 years nows, I was 23.5 when I got married, my wife was 20. It's good. It all boils down to in the relationship, what can I do for my spouse. If you both have that attitude, things go smoothly and life is great.

I was 28, he was 29. We have 2 dogs and a cat - and that's all we're gonna have for the next 4 years. People always remind me how old I am and ask when we're going to have kids. I always say 2013!

Trust me, I'm not mature. In fact this morning I brought some new gadgets for my office: a sea-monkey kit and a giant fart alert button, and a bowling for nuns kit.

I am living proof that there is no correlation between being married and being mature! 👍

I'm Married as well. It will be nice to have the support during dental school.

I notice a lot of the couples here are very young. Is there a possibility that couples especially very young ones could end up divorcing due to dental school?:scared:

That would be very sad if this were the case. I believe that couples can get through difficult times, like dental school, if they are both willing to put forth the effort. I also believe that marrying at a young age doesn't "doom" you to future divorce.
