The following are my ECs; any critiques and comments would be greatly appreciated. I have spent around 100 hours on each one over a span of at least 1 year. I am a junior with a 3.9 overall GPA at UC Berkeley. What are my chances of getting into medical school? What other ECs do you recommend? Thank you so much!! 🙂

1) Shadowing
2) Directed patients to resources at a disadvantaged clinic
3) Volunteer at a typical hospital
4) Volunteer at a disadvantaged hospital
5) Volunteer at a college hospital
6) Food bank volunteer
7) Founder of GI awareness club
8) Founder of volunteer club
9) GI research (one semester, no publications, just an assistant)

You'll have better luck posting in the Pre-med section. You can also check out the What Are My Chances sub-forum and read a couple of threads and see what looks good.

Also, I recommend getting a unique hobby that you are passionate about. Your ECs so far match everyone else.

Hey, just FYI, the three threads you made can probably be combined into one. You can ask more than one question at a time, that's better than posting a ton of threads all at once.
Also, as stated above, you'll have more luck in pre-allo. This forum is for students who are already in medical school.

ECs are fine, except research might be very low for the Powerhouses. A great MCAT score can make up for that.

@Goro how much research is ideal to get into medical school? Also, to what extent? (i.e. getting published)
