For anyone already in school, just curious how many of your classmates have dropped out of your program? I was talking to someone in different program who said they started with 16 and only graduated 5 by the end. We're halfway through our 2nd year and haven't lost anyone. So, I was just interested to see if it's because of program quality, difficulty, or just a fluke...

The school i'll be attending has on their website the number of students accepted each year, the number that graduate, how many pass the board exam first time, second time ect. A couple years they lost 1 or 2 students but that was it, so maybe your friend's situation was just a fluke or could have had something specifically to do with the program.

From my class, so far none (1st year). I know one student left from a previous class. Although the program is tough and they set high standards, they will do everything they can to help you stay in the program. After all, it does look bad on their part if the program doesn't have a high retention/graduation rate.

if a program lost 11 out of 16 people that definitely sounds like an issue with the program. what with OT admissions being so competitive and OTs being in high demand on the job market, it can't be a coincidence that a program lost nearly 70% of its cohort. 1 or 2 is understandable due to outside circumstances or realization that the career isn't for them but...70% to drop out? sounds like a badly run program to me.
