how much difference on the difficulty for the PCAT & Pearson's practice test

ive done couple of the practice exam from Pearson and got decent scores from it but i was wondering how difficult is the actual PCAT and the practice exam?

I think it very, very similar to the real PCAT because my practice test scores, 80-99, 80-99, and 75-95, were exactly similar to my real PCAT score of 94%. and verbal was my lowest like in all those practice tests too (cept RC on practice test 4 haha).

Did you just take the test?

thank you! i thought it was very similar to test #4 with RC not being as difficult

okay so which part of the actual pcat test was the hardest? and what about the essay part?

For me the vocab was the hardest just because if I dont know what the words mean in the analogy i dont have a very good shot at guessing what their relationship is. To be honest i didnt study at all for essay, it doesnt really affect your score in my opinion. I just made sure to have 5 paragraphs, intro with thesis, 3 solutions (counter solution possibly) and conclusion with thesis restated

How similar would you say that the PCAT was to practice test 4? Practice test 4 is very difficult.

Chem was not hard (for me) i am a chem major and i have scored 80-99 on all pearson tests even #4. QA was about the same as it was on pearson four to me. bout same % of the basic math, algebra, did have a lot of probability /financial caclculations though, and not as much calc as I expected. These are just my opinions of how the test was for me so I am trying to relate it to the practice tests for others to compare to. If you are doing really good on dr collins chem and quant you should do great on those sections in pcat.

im biochem major so those chem was easy to me. ive made 70-99 % on both test 2 and 3 and also 80-99 on math... i guess i will focus on bio and the va. you did say there are a lot of random diseases? and how kind of topics were on the essay?

The actual PCAT was pretty similar to the difficulty of the Pearson practice tests. I actually found it to be slightly easier than practice test 4, especially the math and reading sections. The reading section of practice test 4 was brutal.

The essay was honestly the easiest part of the exam. I followed a four paragraph template: introduction to the problem, solution, alternative solution, and conclusion. I prepared for the essay by writing ~20 essays in the span of a couple days, but neither of the prompts on the actual tests were prompts that I prepared for...

Just be able to organize your thoughts well and leave some time for proofreading after you're done writing!

I just took the PCAT today and The pearsons is very similar to the actual test. I feel like the verbal was a lot harder on the actual pcat. I ended up doing the same as pearsons predicted in each section

In each section there was one or two questions verbatim from pearsons

I took the PCAT yesterday. I found the reading on the actual test brutal. I have been scoring 75-95 on all 3 Pearson Practice tests. However, on the real thing, the questions were way more intense on my version of the test. Same things with Biology. On all Pearson tests, I have been doing 75-95 as well and I found the actual biology test containing too much specific questions and not enough general concepts. Here is a breakdown of my scores:

Verbal ability - 82
Biology - 57
Reading comprehension - 25
Quantitative ability - 91
Chemistry - 98

Composite - 85

I agree with the person above me!! Reading comprehension was horrible!! And biology was more focused on anatomy and little specific details about health /diseases

VA: 82
Bio:92
RC:56
QA:93
Chem:93
Composite:92

But overall happy with my scores 🙂

But if you take the PCAT in the future definately buy the 3 Pearson Practice Tests!
