Hey all!

I've been filling out the AACOM applciation and came across a question. When writing down the dates for extra-curric activities, how specific do you have to be? ... for example, is sept 1999 good enough or do you also have to include what day you started? (i can't specifically remember what day all my activities were, but i guess i can approximate it) ... i even thought about just putting fall 1999 but thought that was too broad.

Also, we don't need to put the dates for our awards + honors right? ...

thaks in advance for all your help!!

Mye general rule for most stuff (CV, resume, AMCAS or AACOM) goes something like this:

Honors/awards: list by academic year, or semester (i.e., "fall 2000" or "1998-99 academic year"). This makes the honor fit with the time period you were likely doing work to get it.

Extracurrics: same thing, if it's school affiliated (and therefore on your school calendar).

Volunteer and non-school activities: go by month (like you had above; specific dates are unnecessary). Because these don't follow the academic calendar, if anyone ever wanted to contact a site where you did something it would be more pertinent to know your real-life calendar dates than academic year. Extrapolate ad lib. This doesn't really apply to apps for med school, but I like keeping stuff consistent across the board. Good luck with your application!

Just a small note.... Be consistent!!! 😎

Question #15: List volunteer positions, internships, etc. (include dates): ?
