I'm currently volunteering in a surg ICU for 4 hours/week.

I am also interested in volunteering at the medical school here which provides direct shadowing opportunities.

Finally, another hospital in town allows students to volunteer directly in the ER and be active.

How many should I volunteer at? How long at each?

I have a full two academic years until application with this coming summer. I feel each of these provides a unique opportunity for me, but at the same time, how do i not seem like im stacking up on volunteering to stat pad?

would they be more comfortable with 100 hrs at each or say 150 hrs between two...just for an example!

thanks for any help in advance!

Everyone pads their volunteering stats. No one's volunteering experience is worth all that much.

Put your time in then move on. Do whatever you like. I'd personally take the most cush volunteering job, grab a book/magazine and grind out the hours.
