How to get over the sad stuff

Hey all. I just finished my pediatrics rotations, and am really interested. It is so rewarding! But the sad stuff that I've seen has been particularly depressing to me. Any advice on how to not take the sad stuff so hard? Thanks.

I think that in general kids do so well. It's the fact that many have great recoveries that make up for the few who don't. When kids die or develop chronic conditions I focus on helping the family understand and navigate through it. It's definitely a difficult part of peds, but it's one we all have to face.
