How to list shadowing at two time periods

I shadowed in the summer 2003 and started shadowing a different doctor this May until present...how do you go about listing that as an EC? I am scared to list it as 2003-present, because that indicates I have been doing it all along..yet i dont want to list it as two separate entries because it will look like i am padding...any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

List it as 2003-present in the date box and then put the exact dates in the actual description box.
