So I was on a 5 month hiatus (research and all) post Step 1 and I begin my first rotation (psych) in a few days.I am all set with hot picks for psych shelf study, but apprehensive cuz I feel I am a lil' rusty on my Step 1 knowledge.

How would you spruce it up? I am doing a quick review of Goljan path RR and FA Step 1.

a quick run through FA step 1 should do it, but since you are starting psych why not make a quick run through FA for Psychiatry, its about 100 pages and quick to read

Oh my. Don't try and remember it all. All of it very rarely comes up. Review your pharm and psychopath before starting psych. Make sure you've looked at micro and physiology before starting anything else. The rest you'll pick up in a specialty specific fashion, on a case by case basis.

I've ditched Goljan RR and took up FA Psych today.Sheesh, the travails of retaining Step 1 knowledge,it's dripping away like water from my cupped hands.

Honestly, just read the psychiatry section in your Step 1 FA. It's all you'll really ever be asked questions about.

don't bother, itll come back naturally very fast once you see something in practice. When they pimp you, if they do, it wont be step 1 stuff.
