Day 5

Year: 344 B.C.E.

Alexander of Macedonia looked upon the unruly stallion with interest as the enormous horse pitched and bucked towards the sky. His father, King Phillip II, had been presented with the large, black wall-eyed beast as part of a potential sale of war chargers, but as he examined the merchandise, his expression conveyed skepticism. "He is difficult to handle. Not ideal for a charger," said Phillip to the dealer. The young boy cocked his head towards the horse and said, "I can tame him, father." The king laughed. "Son, no one has been able to ride this horse. He has been known to take bites out of the flesh of men. Would you test your luck with a viper?" The boy shook his head and repeated, "I can ride him. I will pay his full price if I am wrong." The horse dealer burst out laughing, saying "child, if you can ride this horse and live, you can have him." He shook his head and turned to his assistants, who chuckled at the notion of a 10 year old boy handling such a beast.

The boy steeled himself and began to walk towards the huge stallion, who glared at him with his blue eye as if to say "I dare you to come closer." Unfazed, Alexander laid a hand on the quivering black horse. The horse immediately relaxed under his touch, as he was not used to being approached by such a small, unthreatening presence. He turned his head and whiffed into the boy's unruly dark hair. "Shall we show them, my friend? Shall we show them what it means to chase the sun, as the mighty Icarus tried to do?" The horse breathed heavily in his face as if in agreement, but then looked up towards the sun and spooked sideways. "Ah," said the boy, "I see what has made you afraid. Do not worry, I will not let the shadows bring you harm." He grabbed the horse's thick dark mane and swung up onto his back. The stallion tensed like a coiled spring, but Alexander was ready. He turned him away from the sunlight so that the horse was no longer afraid of his shadow, and shouted "RUN, Bucephalus, and we will race against the sun so that it troubles you no longer."

King Phillip and his court looked on in disbelief as the small boy and the untamable horse disappeared into the horizon. As they disappeared from sight, the King could be heard saying, "O my son, look thee out a kingdom equal to and worthy of thyself, for Macedonia is too little for thee."

While I appreciate you moving off me, you realize this is not going to look good *for you* if Capri flips village, right?
I am aware
i mean i knew this day was coming because it always effing does (every time, i have a bunch of people thinking i'm sketch for several days and then they finally realize they can all lynch me if they just ~worked together~) but i've never been given as little as four minutes to defend so thx all and may you all end up like luis jimenez
How dare you bring Blucifer into this
Yea, but it's not even that. When you mentioned wanting to go down in a tie she responded with this:

Which I find very weird because she literally made a tie to "make things interesting" right before lynch close. She also made this comment earlier:

Sounds like she wanted to let us know she was considering Capri but wasn't committing there. Seems hedgy. Most of her wolf reads from tonight were hedgy. She said she suspected me, Kara, and Lupin but then added the qualifier that she's historically bad at reading 2 of the 3. She's had a lot of mechanics talk as well with the "but I could be wrong" qualifiers too. On re-read, not liking her play tonight because I'm not seeing much actual analysis other than her commentary about me trying to prod for info from Dubz. I'm going to re-read, but depending on this flip, I am now concerned about SAR.
Hi, I'm hedgey sometimes. Kara's comments about the lynch close being too quiet made me worried and I rethought my stance on you because of it. You made a comment right before Capri came on that basically said something along the lines of "Capri is in second and hasn't even come on yet" that raised my hackles a little, because it's easier to defend without having to defend if you come on late and act exasperated about a lynch building with no time for you to respond. That combined with Capri coming on very late in the lynch to put a vote on lupes just sat with me very wrong and I figured I should go with my gut and see what happened.
i'm so disappointed in all of you
nobody googled "luis jimenez"
i even put the link to the wikipedia article for his death on the thread
and y'all (well C? mostly) still think i'm village?
I know who he is!
I thought Capri was saying she was village I dont speak Spanish
Here's a beginner's course

Nope, and I'm guessing that if you're legit blucifer one of us on your lynch is going to die?
I hope it's me

Bucephalus is one of my favorite historic horses 😍

Wow OK

Anyone else want to do more to tell me about how they caught capri this game? I feel doomed to never read her well
She never posted reads
I questioned that day 3(?) she replied to the other half of my comment about her but avoided that half. Then I died.

Yea, but it's not even that. When you mentioned wanting to go down in a tie she responded with this:

Also for reference, my concern was that Capri was in a position where basically any villager would role reveal in a panic in the hopes of switching the lynch to someone who at the very least wasn't themselves (a known villager to them). Capri jumped over that to shaming everyone for the last minute lynch (only vaguely a fair criticism - she's been a lynch leader and high on suspicion lists for several days now and has had ample opportunities to defend prior to this despite the last minute lynch) and to trying to convince someone into a tie, something we guess from earlier in the game has at least a chance of not killing her. It's a suspicious response to what is admittedly a high amount of last minute pressure

I think theres another lurky wolf or 2 - between weim, dina, bryndi & skim

Yes Cray, my village worldview has completely flipped again

Why did Capri flipping wolf lead you to this thought?

Why did Capri flipping wolf lead you to this thought?

Bc the vocal players were right about Capri and now I have the bulk of them leaning village. Stagg hit the nail right on the head with this

That being said it's starting to get to the point where everyone should be at least decently active. I have almost no read on 3-4 people d/t inactivity and that's a problem.

I agree

I don’t have solid proof, but things from sars results she shared before I died just don’t fully make me comfortable and sar was questioning it too.

Sorry, I'm exhausted and things aren't registering properly. You mean SAR's results as ability seer on Skim are making you uncomfortable? Or results that SAR got about something happening to her?

Now I'm kind of afraid you're going to get night killed before we find out what said results were
And then we all get to tinfoil all day about it. Did skim kill to keep the info from getting out? Did the wolves frame skim by killing the only person who can say what SAR found out about skim's abilities? Tune in next time to WIFOM the Musical

Now that people are bringing up Skim I decided to ISO her

Lynch Capri

For her use of the wrong time zone. I’ll be back on closer to the end of the day, clinics, blah blah, clinics...

Weird joke vote for Capri that she never changed.

I'm still down for a stagg lynch. Nothing about capri is sticking out to me either way.

Lynch stagg

Reluctance to lynch Capri

We really have NO idea who she planned on killing that night. I don't think we can believe anything she's told us. Why would you believe it?

This was in response to Karabou's comment that AM was playing as village as possible by planning to take out Capri who had been on everyone's radar the past few days. Just feels like she was defending Capri.

I'm on board with this.

Contingency lynch Skim

And then we all get to tinfoil all day about it. Did skim kill to keep the info from getting out? Did the wolves frame skim by killing the only person who can say what SAR found out about skim's abilities? Tune in next time to WIFOM the Musical
Fortunately she also has a super trustworthy PM partner for if something can't be said on thread 😉

Update: I've been busy tinfoiling this morning and Skim could be a wolf. But also, still may not be a wolf. The tinfoil is real
what is your tin foil
(also hi i just got back from school and now need to also catch up on the entire day since I left before night ended)

Her ability could be seen as having the same utility as mine to some extent. So then I have to wonder if mods would put two similar roles both village.
Since I’m caught up on 0 things past 2 am est and also don’t know where she is on the roster (and if she’s your other pm partner and said what she was in PM) my guess is ability thief then, if it’s similar to yours.

Edit wow I am dumb and have already forgotten your ability
Yeah, my best guess based on the wording of the mod message about her ability is that she is an ability thief. Which I have trouble seeing as village unless it's functioning as a village ability seer, but that's me. Soooooooo

But also mods could have totally put both roles in village just for shiggles
I'm also torn now on whether I continue to pick people next to you (i.e. Dubz) tonight or go somewhere completely different in the roster. Difficult to make a village bloq with an ability seer because who knows what abilities the wolves have and if they are typical wolf abilities or not/if villagers have typical village abilities
its possible. especially if the wolves have multiple kills more than just the one time or if its the village's only way of seering
Yeah, that's why I'm not jumping the gun on her yet. I have her null based on her thread posts so I'm just stuck in a big ol WIFOM loop now
me always including with you soooo
Yep, every time I write out "Skim could be wolf because her ability is similar" I'm like 'uh oh, I could equally be the wolf in this situation to Ski'. So I totally get where you're coming from and am thus trying to show I am village through ability use, but in the end that's up to you to decide haha
Turns out Sardines wasn’t a wolf
Do with this all what you will. It’s not solid proof by any means, but we’re UNCOMFY.
