Hey, I have some questions regarding
HEALTH PROFESSIONS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (
HPSP)
I was checking how to be eligible, but they don't mention certain things, like:

What are the age limitations? Like if you are older than 25, can you still apply or there is a limit and then you can't?
Can I apply after I have already got accepted and enrolled in school, like for example, can I apply for the last two years of dental schools, not from the start?
Is there a physical fitness test or something?

Air Force actually has a different age requirement than rest of the military. I don't think you need to worry about the age anytime soon lol.

There is physical standard test you need to meet. To join, you need to meet weight and height requirement. After that, before you head off the commission officer training (meaning you're ready to go on active duty), you need to be able to do a 1.5 mile, push ups, and sit ups. Otherwise, they sent you back until you can do them (allegedly).

There is two year scholarship and I believe only the air Force does. But the payback is three year because the minimum commitment is three years. You would have to apply the summer going into D2 to meet that deadline

Cool, thank you for this help, better work on pushups and situps then

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but when the military says they expect active duty for four years... does that mean you are actively at a military base being a dentist? Or do they want you to actually go into combat?

I know this is a stupid question, but I feel really confused about HPSP (even though it seems to be well understood on SDN).

My blog will help you answer a lot of questions. I started it in 2009 just before I commissioned and I still update it. It chronicles my journey through dental school on the HPSP and what life is like as an Air Force dentist: usafdds.blogspot.com
Great blog! Thanks!
