Congrats on the internship! And my SAT was pretty bad if a 1780 is bad 🙁 I haven't started studying yet but when school starts up, I'll crack the books open!
 
ahh you guys will be fine. @Jpatel2018 that was actually pretty close to my score, and I did pretty good I guess (accepted to all of my state universities) 😀

Study more and don't worry so much

Under.....or, well lets just say I scored under the national average, and my scores on the three sections were all under 500..... It really sucks. It totally erased half the colleges I wanted to apply to so I don't what I'm going to do. What really sucks is the fact that I put so much time into it, and I hoped for at least a 1500+. At this point I've realized that I'm the type of person who works too hard for everything. I never get a break, I never feel confident in the work I put in to get the grade I desire. I practiced, worked from the book, looked up the parts I struggled with, and practiced writing essays. People asked why I scored so low, my response: :shrug:. Sometimes they would ask, "I thought you were smart, what happened?" My response, "sure. 🙄" What's really funny is when my other friends come to me with their 1500's, 1800's, and 2000+ and say, "Just try again," or "The SAT's wasn't that hard." Like I said, let's just hope in October I'll get a better score, and if it doesn't change that much, I don't know what I'll do.

you could always apply to test-optional schools if you shine in other ways (ex:GPA is good, great ec's, ect.). There's some pretty good ones too.

What are you using to study? I am going to take it again in October and I am planning on buying Barron's and BB... Don't worry man you'll do just fine, just stay confident and study your ass off! A month or 2 of dedicated (1-2) hours a day of studying should bump that score way up!!! And on the math section, slow down! I was scoring low and then the second time I slowed down and did things that I would usually skim over because I thought it was easy and I ended up scoring higher! You got this man! You got all of our support! 🙂
 
also, imo I always thought don't guess unless you can take 2 or more answers out.. Although some people say guess if you can take even 1, I wouldn't. Just a tip that I learned after taking it 3 times lol hope that helps.

+1, even tho I guess on some of the hard ass math probs. The last problems on the math sections never fail to confuse me!
 
lol yeah the math can be tricky, the grid ins are the exception because I'm pretty sure they don't take points off for those. BSing and guessing on those probably ended up getting me at least 10 points though :laugh:

I used the BB and the SAT study guide the school gives us.
 
Get barrons! I find it nice cause its a little harder than the actual so it prepares you better... What was your lowest section? If it was CR I am in the same boat🙁
 
Hmmm, were you having timing problems? Did you finish early or late? According to your grammar on hSDN, you should be scoring way higher than that! Are you usually a good tester?

Time wasn't a problem, it's just that I don't like tests.

I scored a 1490 on the SAT which is pretty horrible. I scored 710 on the Critical Reading, 410 on the math and 480 on the writing section (because honestly i'm a perfectionist and 25 minutes is honestly too short)

I'm pretty sure i'll do better on the ACT. I took the practice ACT without studying and I got a 29... So personally 1490 is pretty misleading. I really disliked how some questions were phrased. I'm not an analytical thinker, i'm philosophical.

^ uhhh 710 + 410 + 480 = 1600 if my math is correct...

anyways :laugh: shoot if i were you i'd take the SAT again anyway along with taking the ACT.. I mean most colleges only take the highest score of each section and that CR score is impressive enough 👍 (assuming your total # score is wrong and not the breakdown of each section)

oh yeah I meant 1590 and those individuals scores were just a rough estimate...

has anyone on here taken the ACT yet? If any of you have, please share details and your personal experience 🙂
 
You gotta go fast.

I paced myself horribly on the reading section and had to guess on a whole passage (there are only 4 passages in total) and ended up with like a 22 or something on that section. That was the difference between a 32/33 and my 29.

I was a SAT person anyway, did much better on that.

The science section is terribly inconsistent in difficulty. The first time I got a 33 on the science part, the second time I got a 24.

Lol I could use some Class of 2014 discussions right about now! So how is everyone's summer going? My school starts on the 24th of this month. Where TF did summer go?
 
i'm just going to hang around since the class of 2013 is too cool for a page 😎 i started my job, and it sucks/is too boring
 
The school system decided that we should go to school earlier... -.- We usually go to school August 27th, but now we go back August 19th......

Well my summer hasn't been super productive, but I've managed to get a lot of the things on my list done

Got my first paycheck on the job a month ago, expecting another one soon, (Hello PS4 😀)

The Hospital has an interview with me to see how they could "utilize my skills around the facility". volunteer wise of course

Been coding a lot recently, which is always fun.

And still managed to have enough time with friends and family. 👍

So all in all, no complaints.


I think I might actually be ready to go back to school by August 25th. Seeing That I've been out since Mid-May
 
I'm going to buy new scrubs soon for work and I have no idea where to start. I own navy blue scrubs and I just want some variety lol. Any recommendations?

My school had a ranking for scrubs:

9th Grade - Teal
10th Grade - Burgundy
11th Grade - Sky Blue (UNC Blue 👍)
12th Grade - Royal Blue (Duke Blue 👎)

11th Grade colors were the best 😀
