Okay so I didnt want to post a whole new thread about this so if you guys can help me out, itd be great!

So the Barrett EA application goes online on September 3, 2013. Which is not too far away. The deadline is on Friday, November 15, 2013. I know I should finish my application way sooner than that to be safe! So the question is that my SAT score is lower than there average by about 80-100 points (CR+M) and I was thinking about if I should retake it on October 5th? It would be like Oct 20ish by the time I get my scores and I don't really want to want to wait that long to submit. Can I submit before and still take the Oct 5th SAT and just hope I do good on that one and have it sent after submitting my app?

And also, if I don't get in for my 1st semester, I can apply at the end of my 1 semester (1st year) to join Barrett 2nd semester (1st year). And also I can apply again at the end of Sophomore year as a upper division student! That sort of takes the stress away. They really want students to join barrett!
 
I'm no expert here, but:

I think you should just apply as early as possible with your current scores. You can retake on October 5th, and have the scores sent, and Barrett will see those. They may see them later, but at least they will see them and you'll already have your application in. I believe the ACT is earlier so that's an option as well.

👍👍 So yeah, if you can, apply early and DO retake, just make sure to let them know you will be retaking the test. Good luck broski

also, just saying, your GPA may help even with a lower SAT score if you have one higher than the average (idk if they tell you what the averages are, i'm just saying if you do have access to this info)
 
I'd definitely mention your research experience in a personal statement as well, especially since it coincides so well with your major. You might not have the best stats, but I think very few high school seniors have the experience you do in the lab. It shows them that they're not getting a clueless Pre-med, they're getting someone serious who knows what they're getting in to.
 
For sure buddy! I was talking to a friend that goes to Barrett and he told me that Barrett takes research very seriously and since ASU is one of the biggest research focused school, it should help me out some! Thanks for the answers guys! So I will just submit early and still take the Oct 5th SAT. I don't really want to take the ACT cause it would be my first and last time and I don't want to get a crappy score! You guys rock! 🙂
 
Just a word of a advice:

For schools that do not have rolling admission, it does not matter when you submit your app. As long as you get it in before the deadline of course, it does not matter. Sending it in a month early won't make them favor you and chances are they won't even see your app until after the deadline has passed.

For schools with rolling admission you wanna get it in ASAP.
 
Just bought "Biology for Dummies" at Barnes & Noble... maybe it'll help refresh me for AP Bio. I haven't had a Biology class since freshman year so I'm worried about forgetting the basics.

They pretty much teach you the basics in the class and in depth. Junior year, we started with evolution and that's pretty much easy, but the new stuff like microevolution, Hardy-Weinberg, speciation and all that good stuff is where it gets a little weird. It's good that you're reviewing because you did take it freshman year lol. Anyway, good luck with the class 🙂.

lmmaaaooo college prep.. more like 2k13 + work at this point. Kiinndaa need to start going to sleep at a normal time.. I am very slowly getting everything ready just because I don't want to leave that much anymore :scared: lol I'm pretty much set for all my gear though! Gunna be 2 tvs, a minifridge, and a microwave. It's going to go down, :laugh:

Interviewed at Purdue for the Army ROTC scholarship today. It was intense but I owned and Im feelin' gooooood

Anyone take AP Calc? My teacher used to be a professor and teaches at a college concurrently! He is a good teacher but when it comes to quizzes he puts stuff on there that the classwork nor the homework has covered. Like its the same concept but different ways to solve them. We had a quiz yesterday and I did okay on it, misses like 2-3 questions for sure. Everyone was confused and frustrated lol. Any tips on how to exceed AP Calc? I've had the same math teacher for two years in a row and he moved so this year I have this professor and all I can say is that my old teacher didn't prepare us one bit for this class and now its starting to show. Time to get studying if I want to get a B or higher this year!
 
I'm taking AP Calculus 1 and I'm pretty nervous because I didn't do so hot in pre-calculus. It definitely takes practice and I was told that repetition is key.
 
Yeah I was looking through the section in our book that we quizzed on yesterday and the quiz was way harder than anything out of the book! Looks like I'll have to bust my butt more. I was the opposite, I destroyed pre-calc, but I don't have that same feeling with Calc. Particularly because the strict teacher/prof.

AB or BC?

Know your trig inside and out. And yes that includes those annoying identities that nobody cares about or bothers to remember.

Calc is 90% algebra/trig and 10% calc.

Starts Wednesday. Before that: I have four parties to attend, I have to finish an over-summer math packet, I have to buy new school supplies, and go to tennis practice. Stressful three days coming up!
 
Mine starts next Monday -.- I'm just chilling for the most part. I haven't started school shopping yet because tax free starts this week so I can ma deals lol.
 
I start the 21th, one day after my birthday. This week is going to be last one, unfortunately.
 
Looking back now, K-12 has gone wicked fast. I still remember my first day of kindergarten like it was yesterday. Kinda depressing
