Hello-
I was an entering freshman at a NOLA university when Hurricane Katrina struck (significantly NonTrad, as you might imagine), and was wondering what to do about the semester spent at another institution. I started school much later than most (close to 3 weeks) and was told that my grades would not count for the semester spent at this institution- rather it would be P/F for transfer credit. In fact I had already missed an exam in 2 of my courses.
So i have two sets of transcripts- one with my actual grades (from the other institution) , and one with the correct Transfer P/F designation (NOLA institution). My NOLA transcript has a note detailing the fact that these are transferred from another university due to the hurricane.
The grades arent bad (within .1 of my cGPA, 14 credits) but I'd rather not have them count for credit, as it dilutes (in terms of total credits) the impact of my 60 hour postbacc. Without it, im almost a full 0.05 higher. It might seem insignificant, but I guess not to me.
I dont want to get held up by AMCAS, and am sure at least one/few of you may know what happened to applicants in my shoes during their application process.
What do you think is the protocol here? What set of grades should I report?
