I guess all hope isn't lost for this year =]
just wanted to share the news
i guess its the luck o' the Irish that pulled me through with this one:luck:
happy st. patty's day everyone,
matt

Congratulations man!

I just looked at your MDapps. Your GPA is way high (compared to mine). I'm surprised you haven't gotten more. Even w/ that MCAT.

Awesome. Congrats!!!:clap::clap::clap:

Congrats. That school IMO has a very positive future. I wish I would have applied, although I would really have liked to have seen the campus complete. :luck: at the interview Matt. 👍

Good job and good luck with your interview.

Woo Hoo!!! Congrats Matt! :hardy::luck::zip:👍😀:horns::banana::clap:

okay just to make sure i dont procrastinate on this...
i am supposed to call in and let them know of a date when I can come in and interview, as per dictates the letter.
the days for interviews will be March 28th and April 18th (they have rolling admissions)
sooo, I have two concerns:

1)
when i call to schedule an appointment...i should shoot for the earliest date possible right? because that increases my chances?

2) lets just say i am magically accepted somehow. At what point do they expect a deposit? Because if they expect a deposit really soon...and I happen to have some other interviews (lets just say i got some at some other schools too) pending, will that mean that I have to pick PNWU before I know if I am accepted at another school?

Dude. Either go for it or don't go.

March 28 is infinitely better than April 18.

When you "pick" a school it means you give them money. You "unpick" a school by walking away from the money you gave. AWESOME, AWESOME problem to have if you need to walk away from ~$1000 to go to a school you love that loves you back.

When you call them ask them for what class they are interviewing for. I say this because I was suppose to have an interview on the 8th of March which I changed to the 28th due to illness, about a week ago they called me and said that the class was filled and they were only interviewing for waitlist and 2009

Congrats, I bet more will come for you just be patient

well thats only slightly depressing.
but honestly, not by much!
im interviewing for waitlist spots now =]
ill still interview though, regardless if it is for this year or next!

"Either go for it or don't go."

Exactly wait list is better then 'no-list' I was suppose to interview on the 28th, so I would say take that one so you have the honor to meet me, but now I"m going to WV on the 28th, so.....you unfortunatly will not have that honor

aww damn...
i always wanted to meet a tanned, blonde-hair-ed real life simpsons character 😉

but i just wanted to say one more thing about this idea of interviewing for the class of 2013, and that is this; It is akin to filling out the earliest application possible for the next cycle...which is what I was planning on doing anyways. but this way saves me the money of more applications =]

Speaking of the Northwest, I am contemplating growing my hair long and shaggy, and going with the big, bushy mustache for my half-ironman in June.

it wouldn't be very aerodynamic so would probably slow your time down substantially

speaking of long shaggy hair and mustaches...
i recently discovered that if you use vaseline on your beard (or stubble) and shoulders...then you wont get those bilateral red sores from the friction associated with turning your head against your body!
I dont plan on growing a beard out anytime soon...but this is a strategy my swim-coach-friend employs when he forgets to shave and his stubble becomes bothersome.

and that is doubly true miss LauraDO...the body hair is no good for aero/hydro-dynamics....but Faris Al Sultan sported a full beard as he coasted to victory in Kona a couple years ago...and a recent top 3 finish just last year! so...its not going to slow you down THAT much.

ok can we stop, all of this hair talk is making me nauseous....back to your interview...Yakima is a great place to train, beautiful scenery, not much else to distract you, cars to run you over, buses to run you off the road

Congratulations on your interview! What a big accomplishment! I just recently learned about that school and I am in love with it already. If I don't get in anywhere this year, it is one of my top choices for next year!

I would bet $50 that if you get wait listed, you'll get in. Because of the newness of the school and because of the absence of Stafford loans I think there will be massive shifts of students away from PNWA as matriculation approaches.

Go to the interview. You will not regret it.

Congratulations! I just got an interview for LECOM- COMPLETELY out of the blue, but hey, I'll take it 🙂

I second this, congrats Matt. Now go, kick a$$!

When did you decide to interview? You should do it ASAP. This late in the cycle, there is no time to lose.

i called today to schedule the interview for next friday (march 28th) but they had already closed their offices.
so thats the first thing im going to do tomorrow morning!

thanks to everyone for the support!😀

hey matt that's awesome!!!! Congratulations! I hope you blow them away and if you do have to reapply next year I'll look forward to going through the process with you. Best of luck and keep us all posted!😀

Good luck man!

A few things in this thread ....

1. Matt, congratulations!!! You deserve this and you know it!! Congratulations and rock the interview.

2. I completely agree with 'Obnoxious Dad' .... making the wait list should give you an excellent chance of matriculation.

3. Sheruns': Very nice car selection.

Congratulations and good luck on your interview👍

That's awesome! I'm so excited for you! If they like you well enough to interview you, they like you well enough to let you in. Just convince them that you are a PERFECT fit at their school. You're golden. Knock 'em dead!:luck::luck::luck::luck::luck::luck::luck::luck:

Congratulations! :hardy: Best of luck in the interview.

Congrats, I was hoping to see your massive improvement on your MCAT but you might not have to retake it overall...here's hoping

I'm going to go ahead and take an unpopular position.

If you find that you are interviewing for 2013, I would say to accept the position.

However, apply broadly again next year anyway. You may find that with more options the world will be a different place entirely.

Congratulations, but consider that this is your career and while I understand you are eager... please don't just throw away opportunities because you don't want to go through the stress of another application cycle. You have strong stats for DO schools, and you should really milk that.

agreed. go to the best school you have a chance at, with your GPA and a higher mcat, you have a shot at all the DO schools. retake and you'll have multiple accepts next year

Congrats Matt! Best of luck in the interviews.

And not to put a damper on things, but I really do agree with MaximusD and spazz - not something to do right now but just keep it in the back of your mind.

Otherwise, good luck and congrats again!!! :luck:

Congrats on the interview and good luck! :luck: X INFINITY

Enjoy your time in Yakima!!!!! Everyone at PNWU is fabulous!

:luck::luck::luck::luck::luck:Congrats on your interview and good luck:luck::luck::luck::luck::luck:

Just thought i'd throw this out there.

You and I have the same bday (i checked out ur profile), thus you are definitely going to rock this interview 😀. Big ups to Nov. 11th.

Good luck man, hope you get in!
