pcat is my top priority this summer, maybe if i get a high quant score (> 80) i won't worry about calc 2
but if I were an ADCOM and if I looked at my transcript seeing that B is a terribile eye sore
and since it's a B not even a B+ (haven't gotten a grade this low since 1st semester), it's not really even a choice now
if they ask me "ok so everything looks good except you appear to be ******ed at math, what have you done to address this?", wtf am i going to say to that?
i remember when that woman told me my grade "oh, looks like you got a B", it was followed by a slient, "good job...", as if a B was acceptable
it astounds me that people are like this
yes, maybe 20 years ago when she was partying away in school, a "B" was a good grade, maybe back in the days when a monkey could get into pharmacy school, even a C would do, but not today
you know this, i know this, exceptions are almost the norm on these forums and i don't bank on luck
Sorry for feeding the troll... but... this one was too hard to resist...
Personally, If I were and adcom and any part of the additude you're showing here showed through in either your essays or your interviews - I would reject you - even if you end up with a 3.9x GPA and a 90+ PCAT. The additude you have shown so far is that you care more about your grades than you do about actually learning. This kind of additude is the kind that will eventually result in failure. I would much rather have someone who places learning above grades.
Humor me and answer the following questions (even if you only answer them to yourself and don't post the answers):
Do you often find yourself "cramming" for exams?
Do you study specifically for the purpose of doing well on exams?
Do you hate cumulative finals?
Do you often ask (or want to know) as much as possible about what a test will be on, what the format of the test will be, and when the exact date of a test will be well in advance?
My guess is your answers are all yes...
On a side note - an example... This is me being a bit of a smart*** but still - it's actually true...
I got a C in PChem I. Does that mean I suck at chemistry? Does it mean the the OP is better at chemistry than me? Because the OP probably got an A in every chemistry class he took, or at least B+'s.
No, it means among the people who actually understand PChem - I'm average at PChem. Oh, and the people that actually understand PChem - is somewhere around 1 or 2% of all people who are college seniors or better - not 1 or 2% of the population but 1 or 2% of people that are at least college seniors. It means that I know a heck of a lot more about chemistry than well over 99% of the population (including the OP).
Oh, and I got B's in Linear algebra & matrix therory, and in Calc III. Not that anyone in admissions would ever do this... but as a hypothetical what-if situation... If someone in an interview had said to me, "it looks like you're retarted at math." I would have laughed in their face, got up and walked out.
