I dropped Calc II and it will appear on my transcript. How bad is it?

I'm taking a lot of credits and since I don't actually need calc II, and my professor doesn't curve, I dropped it so it wouldn't affect my GPA. If it is the only W on my transcript, will med schools care?

This is school dependent. If you drop early enough it wont show up in my school If not you get a W for the class.

I doubt it will be a big deal even if it does show up. If it were to come up in an interview, just be honest and say that your courseload was quite heavy and you didn't think you could do calc on top of the rest.

A single W is a non issue. However if I were you I would have just converted to P/F. Calc 2 was one of my favorite classes. Calc 4 (multivariable) was my favorite.

Not calc, but I dropped a credit heavy class for the same reason as you. The W showed up on my transcript and has never been brought up. Calc II isn’t a prerequisite for most (or maybe any) med school - just make sure to take stats at one point.
