This afternoon, I received an e-mail from ASDOH stating that my materials from AADSAS have been received, and it included a link to a secondary application. I filled out the essays, paid the deposit, and clicked submit. I got such a rush from sending it! It feels so good to be "done" for the time being. Does anybody else feel this very-temporary joy? 😛

... P.S., when should I expect to hear back about interviews?

Besides only 3 more fees/secondaries, it feels good to have everything done and out of my hands. And it feels even better that it's still June.

This wait might be killer. I don't expect to hear anything for a long time. But I'd rather be in wait mode than studying for the DAT or chasing down letters and transcripts. It was a lot of work getting to this stage, so I feel fine being proud of myself for the moment.

I just did a search on earliest interviews, some schools sent invites at the very end of July, others early August, and I think others are in August/September. Though interview dates might be a little bit after that. I didn't search too hard though so there could be other info out there.

Congrats on submitting the secondary, I have done a few but still need to get cracking on some essays.

here's to hoping you have enough community service hours to get an interview.

They wouldn't give me one last year cause I didn't have enough 🙁

This is true. I applied last year and asked what I could do to improve my chances. They said I had some community service but they like to see more. They interviewed students with 500+ hours (not including any shadowing or dental related volunteer work).

Despite having ~500 hours of dental-related assisting volunteer experience in underserved communities, apparently I need more non-related community service (I have about 120 hours right now).

Do they just focus on the number of hours? what about the variety of volunteer work?
