Hey guys,

If the interviewer asks about a noncompetitive score on the MCAT, how would you respond? I have a great Graduate GPA and a so so Undergraduate (3.34). So how do I cover myself??

I would not get defensive. You did the best you could and the score is what it is. I think you have the right idea: acknowledge that it's an area of weakness, then twist the conversation to focus on your strengths.

Hi, I think u raise a very good point but u have to keep in mind one important thing...the school invited u for an interview because they feel u have the potential to be part of their program...meaning ur good enough to be accepted at their school despite ur noncompetitive MCATs...so speaking from my friend's experiences...i would have to say to make sure u tell them the truth and DO NOT MAKE EXCUSES....don't say i was sick or nervous or any of that....jus answer honestly and say that u simply did not perform to ur potential because ur academic grades prove that u are clever enough and smart enough to be in the program and infact do better in the MCATs.....i know a friend of mine got accepted with a 22....because the committee found him interesting enough and capable enough of handling the medical education......

hope that helps...best of luck on ur interviews

They did not ask me. Maybe because undergraduate studies was 4 years away.

I mentioned it briefly at the end.. (repeated what I put in the supplementary) when they ask if there is anything you wish for us to convey to the adcom.

"I did well in my undergraduate studies, but deminstrated my true abilities as a Graduate student... " MCAT scores... I don't know what your score is.. so it is difficult to explain... the first time around (durring undergrad I got 21...) but when I re-did it this summer.. I improved dramatically.. giving them proof of the difference in maturity level.
