If your university doesn't have a med school or one that you want to attend, then how are you supposed to get in touch/get in the good graces of the med school that you DO want to attend? Obviously, travel would be a big problem in most cases, so any ideas about how to set up a meeting or just simply reach an admissions officer to learn more about what to expect from their med school?
Note: I tried in the past just to ask a straightforward question of Harvard and Columbia and neither gave me so much as a hint of a reply

when you apply you can write them letters telling them about your interest specifically in their school. it may get your file flagged.

Sure. Call them and set up a meeting. All the top med schools have nothing better to do than talk to college freshman with hypothetical MCAT scores and average GPAs. Just make sure you tell them about the grade deflation at that very hard, elite university you attend and they'll surely realize that your grades would be much higher if you attended a lesser school. 🙄

People do research at med schools to often be "in the know" with adcom faculty members. It's better than nothing.
