Mine still says pending application review and I'm OOS. What were you guys?
And I'm sorry to hear about your crappy discoveries, they don't know what they're missing. I know you'll have better luck at your other schools.

I applied to Illinois (I'm In-State) and I'm pretty sure we shouldn't hear any news of interviews for a few more weeks, like Truth said.
Everybody, keep your chins up!

I think there was a reply ahead of this and it disappeared. I was going to agree with it.
Basically, you won't hear anything until about the first week of classes, which is about the 12th. Last year, it was around the 9th. The status page won't change until then, unless it's a rejection. You can start checking the page after the 1st of January.

Yes, I think my posts got deleted during the downtime. We didn't hear anything until mid-January-ish last year, and interviews are usually done on Presidents' Day.
Good luck!
Good luck!
BUMP! Here's hoping we all hear something (good!) this week 🙂
Just bumping this up since we should be hearing something soon.
Truth, the first week of classes start on the 19th, so hopefully it won't be that late. Hopefully they'll update our status within this week...

Is anyone else out there having a problem lately with their status page? Mine used to be fine but for the past week the page comes up blank whenever I log in.

You may need to call about that. Or...they may be tweaking the pages in a dry run for when they change everyone's status.

I'm hoping, we hear this upcoming week, too. The first week of instruction last year was January 14th.
Okay, last year, they changed the pages on the 9th. Interviews were the next month on the 18th. So... if it's the same amount of lead time for the interviews this year, we have until the 14th, which is mid next week.
If it goes any longer(or shorter)than that, it'll get hard for oos students to get good prices on rooms and plane tickets.

Hah, nice! *pats you on the back*Woohoo! I was right in doing the math. Patting myself on the back.
Good luck to everyone!
Mailing...as in sending in the mail? Or emailing? Do they change the application webpage as well?

They will send a letter in the mail (snail mail), and will also update the status webpage with either a rejection or your interview confirmation with the date and time.
I just wanted to wish the best of luck to everyone that is waiting to hear from Illinois! Hopefully we'll all see each other at the interview! 🙂
They just posted the interview information on the main website!
I haven't gotten a change in my status page yet. UUUUURRRRGGGGHHHH! I think I'll dump my histiory and see if it makes a difference.

Just got home for lunch and checked my status page--Interview offers are up! It says to check your postal mail for a letter mailed 1/12/09 with interview dates and info. Note: I had to refresh the page to see the status change. Good luck to everyone else!
Does anyone know about how many people they interview?

yay! I got one too! make sure you sign in again or refresh the page or it might not show up. http://vetmed.illinois.edu/ here it says the interviews are on 2/23
I got an interview!

I'm hoping the second times the charm.
I work nights, so this is my morning, most days. (I go back to sleep after the kids go to school.)🙄
See everybody on February 23rd.
We've got a high of 3 degrees today with a wind chill of -28, so I'm hoping next month won't be blizzard worhty around interviews (like last year). No it's not as bad as WI or MN, today, but be forewarned.

Illinois tested my patience a bit...but it really paid off! Interviewing at a school with a decent DVM/MPH program, oh yeah!
HIGH FIVE EVERYONE AND CONGRATS!!!
I will see you all in February!!! 😀

Haha... anyone else have the problem of probably going to have to go straight from the Minnesota interview to the Illinois one!? Yikes! I hope the weather stays ok.
Luckily, I didn't choose the 20th as an option in my Mn interview. But I am probably going to have the 2 interviews and 3 midterms within 2 weeks. I am so excited!!!
I got an interview!

Congratulations Truth and everyone else who got an interview!
Guess I'll be seeing you guys there!

hi...new member here. just curious...does anyone know what the stats are on interview and admission offers? this is my first application cycle, and i'm not sure how optimistic to be about this interview.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Me too! Im hoping they give me the latter weekend to interview, I have Washington interview the other days for Minnesota.
Okay, I'm going to say this again.
There is only one day of interviews. 300 applicants all on the same day. They don't do it on another day. They bring in Alumni to participate in the interview process on that day only. That's how they've done it for years upon years.
You may need to call to see if you can do a phone interview (if possible), or ask to be moved to the end of the day, but that is the day.

I just got my interview time in the mail. My mail came about 15:00 yesterday, but I don't read it until I get back home ater work.
It goes on to talk about getting there early and the parking arrangements. It then directs you to the site they put up on the 14th. Etcetera, etcetera...
So... As I said before, there will be no alternate day to interview.
From letter dated 01/12/2009
Congratulations! You are invited to an interview by the Admissions Advisory Committee of the College of Veterinary Medicie at the University of Illinois on Monday, February 23, 2009. All applicants considered for admission to the Class of 2013 are being interviewed on this day. If you do not interview, you will no longer be considered for admission to our College. Final admission decisions are made after the required interview.

does anyone know how long after interviews Illinois notifies you?
Last year it was about a week and a half after the interview day.
I'm new here. I am from Alabama and got an interview at Illinois! I am so excited beyond words. Since they are interviewing so many people will there be more than one interviewee in the interview or do they do multiple interviews at the same time?
Hey there birdvet2,
They do the 300 interviews in several rooms over the course of the day. The format is three interviewers with one interviewee in a room by themselves. I'm sure you got a time. You are the only person scheduled to interview at that time, in that room. You'll get the room assignment when you get there. The other interviewees wait their turn outside the room and do not go in until they are called in to interview.
If it isn't their turn for a while, people can wait in the Atrium and chat with the students that make themselves available for questions.

Hey, anyone (Truth74?) know if there is any easy public transportation between O'Hare and Urbana? I'm coming from Portland and since it isn't a huge airport and Willard is small (I assume) it makes it quite spendy since I'd probably have to take three flights to get there and spend a lot of time traveling. I'll be staying with a couple friends (one a current vet student there) so renting a car seems silly.
Yes, Willard is small, but not propeller small. It's commuter jet small. People, especially professors and business people, fly to O'Hare (and Midway) daily. Have you tried going through Midway?
You may want to try Lincolnland Express (LEX), there is a bus from Willard that goes through several times a day for the flight school, an Amtrak train from downtown Chicago (I think it gets to Champaign twice a day.), cab companies and limousine services do it also, and bus lines that service the Chicago to Champaign-Urbana route.
I may have a list later in the day of specific services.

We don't have a statewide public transportation system. O'Hare is 2.5 hrs away from Champaign Urbana. You may be able to get cut rates from a carrier that services the UIUC students.
Okay, I did a quick search of the Chicago Airport System, which contains Midway, O'Hare, and Gary-Chicago International Airport.
The Ground Transportation section for O'Hare has a list of shuttles, cabs, rental car companies, and buses (like LEX).
You could search around this site for transportation from Midway, as well.
The City of Champaign also has a list of transportation options for you.
Hope this helps.

FYI, I just realized that today is the last day to get the preferred block rates at the recommended hotels...so call today if you haven't already!
Where are you guys thinking of staying?? I am probably just going to pick whatever hotel is the closest to the vet school, so that I don't panic about getting lost or stuck in a blizzard on my way there in the morning hehe.
Also, I have an 11:30 am interview time... Anyone else?
