Do you guys think there will be less IMG candidates (both non-US and US) compared to previous years? This thread has been awfully quiet.

Do you guys think not having an IM LOR would be a huge red flag? I have 4 LOR's (2 FM, 1 Peds, 1 Surgery), but only realized I like IM after I started my Surgery residency

Yes...why would an IM program want to extend an invite to someone where IM looks like a back up?
Seems like it’s FM that you should apply to...

FYI, many IM programs require an IM chair letter.

US IMG (Natural-born); not a Caribbean school so not sure how that might affect me.
YOG- 2017 (3 years out, redish flag)
Step 1 - 213 (Red Flag)
Step 2CK - 232
Step 2CS - First Time Pass
ECFMG Certification (Sept 2020)
Step 3 - Studying, Havent taken yet
1 Month USCE; 6 Months Observership
3 LOR's
1 Year Research Fellowship, 1 Conference Presentation, 7 Abstracts submitted and awaiting acceptance, 2 Manuscripts (1 submitted and waiting for acceptance, 1 currently working on), No publications (waiting on those manuscripts ;p)

I applied to 150 programs, low-mid tier, mix of community and academic programs. 140/150 programs will look at Step 1 scores in the 210ish range, the other 10 were just 'maybe Ill get lucky' lol. Felt like I did everything I could for this match cycle and applied where I actually have a shot of matching. Wishing all of you the best of luck!

I got an email from 'Match a Resident' saying that there will be similar number of applicants this year as last year, however I don't know how much of that was a marketing strategy to get applicants to pay for their database. I don't know of any other information regarding number of applicants aside from NRMP results which aren't published until after match season. Maybe someone else on the forum has some insight.

I take it you’re a UK grad? How did you manage 7 months of USCE if you don’t mind me asking? Was it electives during the summers during medical school? I’ve already graduated and looking at applying in a couple years but have zero USCE. Good luck for this year!!

Nope. Not a UK grad. The usual lazy way of doing USCE- paid 3rd party service providers.

So far no invites...ERAS is super silent. I am lost 🙁 since im a US IMG. Usually how long does it take for invites to be sent out? Do you guys think we can expect them next week? Some people are already getting invites.

A few of my friends have gotten invites, but they had much better scores than me. I think it'll be at least a week or two till the rest of us start seeing invites. Hang in there bud

I got one invite to St Barnabas saying they are an out of the Match program.
Is that suspicious?

No rejections or IV's yet.

Communication from the following:
Hackensack - Requesting a 200 or less word response to why you like the region/hospital or something about yourself not included in the ERAS app.
USF - Will only offer IV's, will not be sending out rejections (if you dont get an IV you got rejected lol)
Beaumont (Dearborn) - IV's will be sent out by 11/1/2020, will be sending out rejections

Ahh nice. Do you mind me asking what websites you used? Looking at trying to get some experience around august next year when (hopefully) things are a bit more peaceful lol.
