I'm a Canadian student currently studying medicine outside of Canada, but the core of my question is: what's the procedure of getting into internship or a residency program in my case? What sort of exams will I have to do (I've heard of the MCCQE & MCCEE)? Also, how much will my GPA affect my chances of entering (I know this sounds like a silly question, but I've spoken to some people who have said that the GPA doesn't matter as much as doing well on the international exams). Would being involved in research help? What are other things that I can do to increase my chances of entering? If anyone could shed some light on this topic, it'd be much appreciated. Thank you!
