I have a question for anybody in the know. I am majoring in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and, because of the uniqueness of this major, I am not sure how AMCAS would handle some of the courses I took. I saw on the website that anything with Pharmacy or Pharmacology does NOT get included with the science gpa.
However, it also says that courses are to be assigned as BCPM based on the PRIMARY COURSE CONTENT. If this is true, then my pharmacology course should certainly be included as biology, because it is basically biology with a twist (namely, the effects of drugs on biological systems). Also, I took a pharmaceutics course which is almost entirely chemistry.
My question is how does AMCAS make the distinction? Can you send them a syllabus to PROVE that it is indeed a BCPM course? Just because it doesn't have one of those words in the name of the class does not mean it is not primarily based on one of those categories. Any help would be appreciated!
