I'm starting to lose some confidence in trying to become a doctor. This is mainly due to 6 C's on my transcript and I'm getting ready to go into my junior year. They're in OChem1 & 2, Genetics, Gen Chem 1, pre-calc, and calc. My science and cumulative gpa are around 3.0. I'm trying to change study habits mainly due to preparing for the mcat. My school offers a post-bacc program which I'm leaning toward heavily in order to become a competitive applicant. Also, I'm trying to expand on my extracurriculars.

I probably don't have the right to provide you with good advice, because even I'm suffering just as much (3 Cs, and because of this god awful, piece of crap class called chemistry in which I got an F in) and I'm still in doubt whether or not I can make it to med school as well. I was suggested by someone here that as long as you can keep it above 3.2-3.3, with reasonable MCAT scores, it should be fine (I think). However, my doctor tells me that if you do manage to make it to an interview, you'll have to have a good reason for the fluctuations in the grades.

Those are your two best bets. Don't lose hope!

Unless you do outstanding on the MCAT to balance your grades (10-12+ on all sections) then I would strongly suggest doing a post-bac if you are applying to MD schools and most DO schools.
