So, VCU is my dream school...and I am an out of stater (NY). I received an interview invite, but I need any and all advice possible on the best way to present myself when I go there for it. I REALLY want this one 🙂 Any advice that isn't common sense?

Since it is your dream school, it would be ideal if it were not your first interview. Practice your technique on a less-than-ideal school!

Other than that, common sense says to be yourself! I'm sure you'll do great! 🙂

I completely agree with birkchick. If you want to nail the interview, then don't make it your first one. When are you scheduled to interview? If it's not getting too close, I would call and reschedule for a later date. Otherwise, just make sure you have great answers to all the questions they've asked in the past.

My interview is October 23. Thanks for the advice everyone! Let's hope it isn't my first interview then... I need time to practice 🙂

Does your school have a pre-professional office that holds mock interviews? If so great, if not you could gather up some questions from the feedback section, and have a friend ask them to you.

It'll give you a chance to see how your answers sound out loud, and let you know (through your friend) what you look like giving them.
