What are the pros and cons of including the parent info if I am considered independent?

At my school it was required to apply for federal loans even though it was not included in determining the amount. Probably just data for the govenment to collect.

If you want to apply for institutional financtial aid (ex. grants, Perkins loans), you need to include your parents' info. At my school, most people are eligible for grant money ( I got $6000 a year). Now that the Stafford loans are going to be set at a fixed rate of 6.8%, I'm sure the Perkins loans are going to become very popular (fixed rate of 6%, subsidized, longer grace period after you graduate). Putting your parents info won't affect how much you are offerred in Stafford loans, so I would say to go ahead and include it on your FAFSA.
