Including New Activity in AMCAS?

My weakest area on my app is non-medical volunteering (~50 hrs soup kitchen, ~30 hrs for weeklong service trip). I'm in a gap year now and just received an acceptance into the local Big Brothers Big Sisters program. I'm attending the orientation in late May, but I won't have the chance to build many hours before AMCAS opens. By the time I matriculate, however, I should have at least 100 hours of volunteering through BBBS. Is this worth including in my app?

If you haven't used up your 15 activities slots, you can list BBBS as one activity since you'll have a little bit of volunteering by the time you submit your application. However, since most of the volunteering with BBBS will happen after you submit your application, it likely wouldn't impact your application significantly.
