I've been talking to a few posters about Indiana University, but does anyone else have any info about IU? I'm currently debating between IU, Kentucky, and NOVA and would appreciate anybody's input. Also, what have you heard about the PBL curriculum, the board score results, and IU's reputation? Also what do current students at IU think about the PBL? If you guys have anything on any of these schools that would make my decision easier I would really appreciate it. My experience at the IU interview wasn't too favorable towards the school and I wanted to see if it was just my day or did others feel the same way when they visited. Please let me know.

Just curious what you did not like about IU. Not like it is going to change my mind, but I just want your opinion about what you liked/disliked. And what you experienced at your interview. Also what is you home state? IU is for me, I understand if it isn't for you.

By no means do I expect to change your mind. But about the interview day, it just seemed like a very nonprofessional and nonfriendly atmosphere there. They had no formal school introduction, financial aid presentation, or applicant-current student interaction as most other schools I've been to has. I just didn't get the feeling they were very caring about the students. It may have just been my day so it would be interesting to hear how your interview day went.

I am from Mississippi so I would be out of state and paying just as much as I would at NOVA or UK. That's why I am deliberating as of now. I have yet to hear after my Columbia interview and am going to Penn this week, so if I get into one of those two then this whole discussion would not be an issue. I just felt a more student oriented atmosphere at UK and NOVA, but IU's reputation and board scores is what is keeping it in the running. There is no question about the quality of education and clinical experience I would get there, just the quality of life, which I feel is equally important.

I hope you can tell me that I was just there at a bad day and you've heard good things from current students. I'm also iffy about the whole PBL thing even though they supposedly bring back awesome boards. Let me know if you have any added input. Thanks for responding and having this discussion. It helps to get my feelings heard!! Have a good one.

My brother is currently a sophomore at IU and he likes it. He's not a big fan of the PBL though. But he says it doesn't take much time and I think it is over after your second year. He told me not to let the PBL stuff alter my decision b/c it's really fairly minor. He likes the school and since it's in-state for me, I'm most likely going there.

By the way, did you have any stats or info on how good their boards/clinicals are?
