InfoSource is up!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
🙁 I tried logging on to the Applicant Portal, and it won't accept my login name and password. Anyone else having this problem?

No problem here. Got in it okay. Too bad it has no information on it I didn't already know. 😛

Nevertheless, its good to see that AADSAS has got it up and running....for now 😉

Yeah, but they also had us believe that it would be up a few weeks ago...but I'm glad it is up now. I will check it out right now!

UOP recently sent me a letter saying that I can check my status on their website as well....but I tried to do it and it didn't work. Is anyone else having this problem?

UOP is running behind schedule and told me that their application webtools should be up around Oct 15.

I believe that schools who have previously used the Webtools application for applicant status checks, will be discontinuing that service and solely utilizing InfoSource.

If the website you are talking about has "webtools" or "aadsas" in the url, then it probably won't work anymore.

Webtools was an application made available by AADSAS, which schools could customize and then allow applicants to use to check statuses. This is only speculation, but I believe it to be correct.

I'm not sure if its posted somewhere else around here, but it took me awhile to find infosource. The address is http://infosource.adea.org . I'm not exactly sure what "generated mailing" means... although the date for all of my schools is 9/11/02. I havent received anything from dental schools yet, so maybe when they mail me things those dates will change. I think this infosource webpage is a great idea, and it will save alot of stress and anxious phone calls if it works well.

I agree with rovert. that "generated mailing" quote is vague. I was hoping someone could explain that. Does anyone have a different status? especially those of you that applied really early. thanks.

"Generated mailing" is the date of the batch which you are in. The very first possible generated mailing date is June 24. Just because your generated mailing date is in September, doesn't necessarily mean that the stuff has actually been mailed out. It just means that the stuff for that batch was collected, but most importantly, that AADSAS printed out your application on that date. It typically takes one month from the "generated mailing" date for the schools to receive your application.

The status probably won't change until Friday at noon, and then most of the schools should update their databases to show the specific applicant status. I'm an early applicant and have had several interviews, yet my InfoSource shows nothing different than anybody elses at this point.

Keep in mind that this year is a beta test year, so not all schools will be participating in the program.

How do I know all of this information? My school has been responsible for alpha testing the program this year.

Well, as many of you already know, we are now being told that InfoSource won't contain our applicant data until Dec 2!

The only positive thing about that is that we will be able to view acceptances (or denials/waitlists) from one screen come Dec. 2.
