Hi fellow physicians, I need your input regarding certain situations:

1. Medical director insisting that my group prescribed more narcotics. Is this common?
2. My colleague said no and was fired!! She is now worried about getting another job. Will it be difficult to find a job? As she was fired she will take about a couple of months to get another job. Will the gap be a problem?

If anyone had a similar situation please enlighten me!!

Despite the vague title and the ESL nature of the post, it appears you are concerned (for a friend) about future employment after being fired from a medical position.

You've posted this in the Allopathic medical student forum which is not likely to be the best forum for your query.

In essence, finding another job may or may not be difficult depending on the situation regarding your friend's firing, her qualifications, her flexibility, etc. No one can say.

She will have to report the gap and it may or may not be a problem for a potential employer; a couple of months is not likely to be as much of an issue as being fired (whether or not you feel it was done without cause).
