I'm an international student applying for the '09 cycle but there's no way i can afford dental school (waay more expensive for us). Does anyone know how we international students may be able to get loans?
Any helpful info will be greatly apprecaited.

hi..
hey..every one mostly takes loans..even if they have money..do not worry..its not easy for immigrants to pitch in in 200,000 dollars from their own money..its good to take loan..with decent interest vrates..and also, what is your visa ??it depends on that also..but im sure..every one manages to acquire loans..find out more from a bank

You will need a cosigner for the loan or you can get a loan from your home country or else you can apply @ Rochester's AEGD program (check their website)

ur not gonna get a good rate no matter how u try they will ripp u off , so try to get the best u can and when u graduate u will pay it back easily

u r eligible to get a pre-approval... it is enough for all ur visa processes and i-20....

hi,
loan approval is based on either ur I-20 or current visa status.
on visitor visa u can't study so ur loan won't be approved.
u can just get a conditional approval which is valid for 30 days
however u will need to convert ur visitor into F-1 for study,
all these things come after u secure ur admissions🙂

to obtain an I-20 any dental school will require a bank statement in excess of their first year's expenditure.
that statement can be from anybody u know in US/home country provided he/she signs a statement that he is ready to use this funds for your first year studies.
only after receiving such a statement will the university issue a I-20
only liquid money (Cash) is considered in this statement, any fixed assets like house, cars , land are not considered .

r u applying for the D-1 (i.e as an undergraduate) or for D-3 (i.e. as a foriegn trained dentist)??

i'm going to be a D2 soon, im a canadian studying in the US on an f-1 visa, and ijust got a loan from wachovia. youre going to need a cosigner
