ask doctor the reason of something, he will tell you a disease.
Tbh honest if diseases were such a cultural hinderance, there would be so many traditions that would never be. And the causations of raw pig meat and some parasitic diseases is something relatively recent, compared to the biblical times when this tradition has appeared.
And dont come with darwinist stuff, telling me only the people who refused to eat pig survived.
Not to mention other diseases from other raw meats that people keep forgetting about.
I still thinking it was a resource influenced decision, feeding a pig when you could fed a person with the same food was wrong, and goats, cows and chickens could actually thrive on foods that the human being could not.

I agree with with most of what you're saying, but I think you underestimate the stubbornness of people. It would take a lot more than 'because it's unlcean' to make an entire population give up something as tasty and ubiquitous as cow or pig. The famine theory is pretty good, but I don't think it's enough. I'm pretty sure disease plays a part, especially because of the ban on shellfish.

I'm pretty sure these taboos predate the bible. Major world religions are notorious for absorbing customs and norms and making them their own.

Hmm. So she is the new Kate Middleton of the Arab world? I wonder how many upskirt photos of her will end up on the internet. Might be a consolation prize for you.
meh the queen of north korea is still the hottest, and i bet the best housewife too.

Easiest PR stunts in the world. Find most beautiful girl of lower class, marry her and it's the best Cinderella story the world has ever seen.

Picking profiles according to looks is a double-edges sword, LOL!

If things ever got that bad, I'd use other criteria to see how much we had in common.

Wow, is that dinner with your wife? You're living large and as a resident! :highfive:

Is it just me, but does Kate Middleton being called a "commoner", make you ill? Maybe it's a European thing. Makes me glad to be born in the United States.

Oh Ark... Genghis Khan "got more ass than a toilet" because he plundered towns and raped hundreds of women, not because he was some irresistible lady's man, lol. Your innocence/sheltered personality shocks me sometimes. I swear you are a master troll in disguise.
Sadly, he's not a troll.

you're hilarious but I'm convinced that sad soup is for real.

i think it's much more nuanced than that. it's not that he's making it up. it's that he's purposefully combining his real-life self and an internet character, whose personalities are nearly diametrically opposed and between whom he switches so effortlessly. imagine trying to have a conversation with tyler durden and edward norton's narrator character simultaneously. the made up part is the feigned naivete by the real self when the character posts something obviously inflammatory. it's really quite brilliant.

Fight club AND the usual suspects? <3

This exactly.

If he really was like that in real life he wouldn't keep saying homo and bishes every other post especially after nearly everyone on here has told him how offensive it is to certain people. He might very well be timid and lack confidence in real life (with school and women) and also use the same language (even around classmates), but most of his posts are purposely obtuse and offensive = trolling.

He's probably one of the best SDN trolls we've had in a long time.

How can anybody take online dating seriously? 98% of women on dating sites are stupid, uninteresting, boring and the same. Go on any dating site, and you will see the same simple minded, GED having, duck faced, " I like big truck and tattoos" , obese, with multiple baby daddies type women.

Are you referring to actual dating sites or wanting to hookup sites?

What is POF?
I believe that's a ghetto dating site, a couple grades below the OKCupid crowd. Anyway, the truth is...most people are obviously going to be below your personal standards, but that doesn't mean there aren't exceptions out there. In reality, most people in a grocery store aren't what you're looking for either.

Not all are ghetto. You do have to peruse to find the gems. Of course by gems, I must admit I'm going mainly by looks: http://www.pof.com/basicsearch.aspx

I mean what kind of site would you say it was? Serious or hookup?
Casual dating. Per their search, "Find local singles who are looking for dating, love, and a relationship!"

POF has a raunchy reputation. Anyway, the effort expenditure is too much on any of those sites unless you're just casually looking to meet people and see what's out there. I've lost interest in them entirely, despite meeting a couple gems. I guess I'm lazy.

I doubt many of them are good enough to be with you anyways. Maybe eHarmony which is much more serious.

Can I select more than one?

II. Possessing a GED
III. Duck-faced
IV. Tattooed and/or in favor of tattoos
V. Own or aspire to own a big truck
VI. Obese

D. Options I, II and III half the time
E. Option VI ONLY
F. All of the above

yay, its like my college biochem tests!

Why no e-harmony? Is it not free of something? Pretty ignorant about this stuff

Wait till you take NBMEs that can have like 12 answers choices. That feeling when you select J and the answer and then decide " F*ck no, I'm not picking J, if that's the right answer I want to miss the question anyway." brb making a table to simplify what each answer choice corresponds to in terms of correct conditions.

$60 dollars for a month membership. Plus e-harmony is a Christian dating site, they don't advertise the "Christian" part, but certain types of people are not welcome on that site. I'm an atheist so I doubt I would be welcome.

Isn't tinder free?

From my understanding, Tinder and OKCupid are free, which is why they tend to be overrun with douches looking to hook up with anything with a pulse. The "tinder fail" and "ok cupid fail" websites have some hilarious examples.

In my community, Tinder is mostly a hookup (or casual 2-3 dates prior to hooking up kind of thing) site. None of my friends that I know of have found long term relationships off it.

Match and eharmony and others require a subscription, which at least filters out a little bit of the riffraff.
