APPIC isn't an acred, as it is a membership w standards, but not an acred. Asking about pursuing APA-acred. is a more than fair Q. In recent yrs APA is trying to speed up the prifeas, but it still takes time.

Not at all bad form. Those sites should probably expect applicants to ask! If they want you and you consider yourself an excellent candidate, why wouldn't they share their plan with you? Not only do you woo internship sites, but they woo you too (at the time, I imagined internship interviews were like speed-dating...although I never speed-dated).
I would definitely ask and add the answer to my pros/cons list for each site.
