Hi, any one on J1 getting interviews? I have around 55 publications with at least 20 as first author, around 40 poster presentations, before cardiology completed another fellowship but no interviews yet.
Thank you for your reply. People on J1, are you getting Invites via contacts or just randomly? Did anyone get an email from any program asking for additional documents in addition to the documents of ERAS?
Mt. Sinai asked for additional documents (Procedures Log and last 4 publications) , I thinks they asked everyone who applied there for these documents.Thank you for your reply. What’s so malignant about mt Sinai, I am scared now, reading this in every post. Also no interviews for me too yetInvites coming randomly. Still waiting on my home program. Seems like J1 makes it tougher every year. I heard very malignant things about Mt Sinai. One of my co-fellows interviewed there last year. My understanding is that they interview one day all-day and people should be prepared to accept an offer on the spot. Personally did not apply there. Hoping this week brings some good news.
Tomyi, I may be wrong but heard and read that the interview day is long and split in two sessions. Apparently they asked candidates about coronary angiogram interpretation, how you would manage lesions, equations and formulas. They asked people on the spot if they wanted the position there and those that said yes would move on to the second part of interview process going one on one with Sharma and Kini among others while those that hesitated would go on an interview. There is a good post about this some seasons ago. Among your co fellows there are international visiting fellows to compete for cases with. Hours can be long 6am to 11 pm so family life might not be much. But again everyone is looking for something in each program. The great thing about Mt Sinai is I heard you should come out strong and well rounded in peripherals and coronaries (not sure about structural exposure). Don't forget this may have been interview experience of some but not others. What’s so malignant about mt Sinai, I am scared now, reading this in every post. Also no interviews for me too yet
Mt Sinai asked for the same from everyone I believe. No visa requirements. No interviews yet. My understanding is that outside invites will start trickling in mostly post holidays and I have been advised not to panics atleast till Feb. One Midwest program emailed me stating that they would start reviewing applications 2/1. So I guess for now just wait and be patient is the best way to go.
I do confirm, i have heard the same story about Mt. Sinai interviews.Tomyi, I may be wrong but heard and read that the interview day is long and split in two sessions.
