I will be dropping my interview at Case.

I got an acceptance call from Nova today. It was the only school I applied to for the 2007 cycle and got waitlisted. I never thought I would make it in for this year so I applied to more schools for 2008. I guess I was wrong!

I am soooo happy 🙂

Too bad they didn't tell you before you spent $1000 applying!!! Congrats!!!!! And I am happy, one more interview slot open (hopefully for me!!!!)

If you don't mind sharing what were your stats and when did you apply? Why did you only apply to one school? Thanks!

Overall GPA: 3.59
Science: 3.44

I got put on the waitlist in February and bugged Su-Ann every month to see what was going on. She actually told me yesterday "it pays to be friends with me" and "i'm a real deserving student". I wanted it SOOOO bad!!!

I only applied to one school because I haven't taken biochem or micro yet so I didn't want to waste my money applying to a bunch of schools if I didn't think I would get in with my PAT score and not taking those clases (i'm young..i graduated college in 3 years). plus...im not a bio or chem major...I just didn't feel prepared, but Nova was my number one choice so I though I'd apply just to give it a shot...It worked 🙂

I got an interview at Case with those stats too...so GUYS!! STATS ISN't EVERYTHING!!! I had a great application besides my stats.

Thats awesome! So you had no upper level science classes?
 
Pathology, Anatomy & Physiology. Other than that, not really. I was a Health Sciences major with a minor in Health Services Administration.

I knew I wanted this for so long!! In high school I was an intern at a Dental Office. I knew this was it since I was 15. So you can imagine how horrible I felt when I bombed the PAT. I'm glad I got into my #1 choice though. I'm so excited I couldn't even sleep last night! lol. There's so much to do in 3 weeks!
 
So Creighton contacted me today to schedule an interview! I am stoked to already have heard from them, and didn't expect it since my DAT score wasn't very good at all (17/18/18). So they start on September 11th, and are conducted M, T, and F at 2 PM. Does anyone have any advice on when would be the best time to do it? Let me know, and has anyone else heard from Creighton yet?

How exactly were you considered friends with Su-Ann. Is it because you were constantly nagging her on the phone for your status and she started recognizing your calls? Or did you meet her during an interview or something?

It pays to be friends... lol... LMAO. Sorry, but if you had to kiss major ass / harass to get into a school, something about the admin must not be right. But hey, it results in an acceptance! Congrats anyway.

Well, if they had a group of candidates with all things being equal, it may have been her persistance that put her on tope of the list
 
In my second year in school I made an advising appt with her and asked her a million questions about the school...so she knew I was interested since then....Then I called her probably like a year later to tell her I took my DAT and we had a conversation about that. Then I called probably like 6 months after that (when I got waitlisted). I was nice, respectful, and I asked her how I could improve my application for next cycle. I called once a month from Feb-May to check on my status. We always had a mini coversation and she would look into my file everytime. I hadn't talked to her since May...and then I got the call yesterday. I did not nag or harass...I was always friendly. It worked for me.

Interviews: Case and Nova.

My case interview will be on August 15th and Nova will be on September 12th.

Looks like this thread is evidence that you need to get your apps in ASAFP. I couldn't imagine the agony if I hadn't even taken the DAT yet.
 
How were U guys notified by NOVA?
 
wow...i just found out i have an interview at florida, and it's in like 12 days. it's july 24th. doesn't that seem a little bit of a short notice? hopefully i start hearing from more schools soon!!!

updating predents is a must! just think of it as annonymous bragging :laugh:
 
Isn't this whole SDN thing just anonymous bragging? Everyone on here inflates their stats and talks big game like they know it all.

Call me naive, but I don't consider the stats that people post on these forums to be inflated.

Sure there is going to be the odd individual that will boost their GPA or DAT up a point or two, but all in all I was under the impression that posted stats were relatively accurate.

Further, it's pretty weak that someone would feel the need to post inflated stats to get the respect (or whatever it is they desire) of the people on SDN to boost their confidence in areas that it might be lacking.

Me too! I'm so excited and relieved to get my first interview. 🙂 It seems like most people are interviewing towards the end of August. Hopefully they're not all booked for Aug 20th.

hi, after you submitted ur secondary application, and u go back to view the application
do you see it says whether they've received ur application fee/transcripts/recommdendation letters?

for me, it's all blank other "received" column

how are you guys hearing about the interviews...email? snail mail? phone calls? or are you just checking AADSAS?
 
I just got an email from NOVA and I started getting really excited (even though I just submitted my supplemental application last night). But it was just an email about financial aid...boo
