I had an interviewer ask why I did the DO route for med school. After I gave my answer (holistic philosophy...) he said that was interesting. Then, he said that there are 2 types of people that go DO- the ones that belive in the philosophy and those who can't get into allopathic programs. This led me to believe he questioned what I said and doubted the qualifications of some DOs. This was the PD, so why bother interviewing me if that is their thought? Am I overanalyzing or should I consider this to be a very bad sign as far as how welcome DOs are here (they actually have 1 DO resident)? This place also questioned my grades a lot. I assumed if you were invited to interview, you met their qualifications on paper. Any of your thoughts would be appreciated. Right now, I am leaning to not even ranking this program.
