Interview Attire
Started by hallwe
did anyone give you a reason why you can't wear a double breasted suit? I wore double breasted suits to my interview and never thought anything of it. On hindsight no one besides myself wore a double breasted suit.
In any case wear conservative. Navy blue single breasted suit, white shirt and red tie is the classic conservative ensemble.
Good Luck

What really sealed the deal for my acceptance to harvard was my attire:
purple Mc Hammer pants
yellow "HULK RULES" tank top which I proceeded to tear off of my body following the introductions and yelling "to be the man you have to beat the man, and IM THE MAN"
gelled hair to look like kid from kid n' play, notable in house party 2

hallwe,
The style of the suit isn't as important as how the suit fits you. Double-breasted should be okay.

At my interviews a large percentage of the guys, including myself, wore double breasted suits. You should be fine with that... just make sure you brush your teeth before your interview day (or at least bring some listerine pocket strips).
I think the person who said that probably thought of the reputation of double breasted suits as more evening attire rather than business attire. If you are unsure, why not ditch the jacket and go with dress shirt and tie. I heard business casual is a safe way to go for interviews.
If you go double-breasted, I think you should have at least 2 nipples!
P.S. Double-breasted hides pierced nipps.😱 😱 😱

The mullet is key. Either that or a long, braided, "rattail" never fails to impress. I also suggest mentioning that your favorite leisure activity is "ripping donuts" in your beloved '86 Chevy Camaro at some point during the interview.
It is IMPERATIVE that with the mullet you wear your denim sleeveless vest that has an airbrushed picture of the AC/DC album (cd) cover for the cd "Fly on the Wall" on the back. Also, in addition to "ripping donuts", let them know of some of your other favorite pastimes:
1) Smashing rocks through the windows of parked cars on the street
2) Baiting vehicles into drag races, car chases, or other such reckless behavior.
3) Buying beer for the teens unable to provide for themselves due to age restrictions--The preferred method=pimping.
4) Anything else immoral, illegal, or just plain bad that bears telling which may further your cause.
Believe me, there are enough boring, stuff-shirted, conservative applicants matriculating every year. Stand out! A background of lechery with a willingness to bend the law shows a thumbing-your-nose attitude that just can't be taught.

Seriously, I agree that conservative is a good rule-of-thumb...but that doesn't mean that you have to starch yourself up to the likes of Pat Buchanan or Trent Lott. I personally think the red tie is a bit stiff.
For my interview I still wore the dark suit, but I tried to have a little more flexibility with the tie.
(Important note: this is NOT meant to ipmly that under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES is it okay to wear any tie resembling a fish or promoting a sports team!) 😎
