Hi everyone,
This is my first post here. I am applying for fall 2006 admission, and I am wondering about the interview dress code for pharmacy school. What colors and styles are appropriate? (My friend wore a black suit to her interview, but I don't have any black suits)

Search in the pre-med forum. They have discussed this ad infinitum there....

break out the kenneth cole... 😎

Dress as if you were going to your mother's funeral.

I want to steal your avatar.

That's what my friend told me too... 🙂

Black seems so depressing, though.

Honestly I think the MOST appropriate thing is a black or dark suit. It's not a bad investment because you will need it if you have any other interviews and plus it is just a good thing to have (good for funerals too, as others have mentioned). Try to find one on sale because I recommend one for an interview. Dress very conservative. Small jewelry, for example. Let us know if you need any more help with the application process!! 😉

Thanks for eveyone's replies!

Just to get some idea about how I should dress--can someone share what they wore to their interviews?

Oh, and undergarments 😉

I wore a black skirt suit with a lavender shell underneath, dark hose with closed black toe shoes. I also wore fake pearl necklace with matching earrings.

Did anybody not wear black? I really dont like black on me very much.

I didn't wear black. To one interview i wore a navy suit with a yellow shirt and to my other........ hmmmmmmmmm i either wore a brown or grey suit.

but i think the key is the suit...

I didn't wear black either. Well, my shoes were black. I definitely looked more casual than the other people at the interview. They were all wearing suits of some sort.

I wore a more "spring" season suit to one interview... a olive/gray suit. still respectable, but not depressingly dark. i stood out a little more, I think. most folks were wearing very dark colors. as long as you look clean, crisp and respectable...

I have the dress code covered. I had to buy a new suit for a funeral last month and I wanted black for that. That's one less thing to worry about I guess.

I want this, with a brown skirt and some spiffy heels:

Anyone got a few hundred bucks they can give me? Anyone wanna be my sugar daddy? 😛

How should a girl with long hair wear her hair and have it look professional. It's about halfway down my back and it's straight and dark. Thick but not frizzy. I would wear it down but I don't want it falling in my face. Wearing it up would require a trip to a salon the morning before the interview because my hair is heavy and I can never get it to stay up (other than in a ponytail) 🙂
Any ladies out there with long hair and some advice?

Slick ponytail or bun at nape of neck. Or possibly a french braid, if you can handle that.
