So I had a mock interview yesterday (yes, very late, I know) and my interviewer said that I did not convince her that I really wanted to be a doctor. She said that I needed to be more enthusiastic and smile more. I almost felt like she was telling me that it wasn't what I said that mattered but how I said it. I happen to be a calm and more introverted person and I am not very excitable. This does not mean that I do not have the passion or a desire to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor. I actually feel that my calmness allows me to handle stressful situations better than others because I do not get excited or overreact. I am also very straight forward and to the point. I will give an answer and then explain why I feel or think a certain way. She did not like this. She gave me some suggestions on how to better answer some of the questions that she asked me but her answers were no different than mine, they just beat around the bush more to get to the answer. This is something that I find annoying. Just answer the damn question! Is there anybody else out there who can relate to me. Some opinions would be appreciated.
