Interview invites-how early?

Hey, I am new to this SDN but I was wondering the same thing about how soon invites come and also when the best time to interview is? Is it best to interview early in November or later in December? Thanks.
 
I'm so jealous! That must feel so great to have interviews already. I hope I hear from at least one IM program before Novemeber...
 
where did you get an interview offer from in IM? lucky!!

Georgetown via email (not via ERAS messages, by the way)...they have interview days from early Nov to late Jan on Mondays and Wednesdays...Feels good to finally get this ball rolling. Let's just hope the next one doesn't wait weeks to come through.

Good luck to you all. It shouldn't be long before this forum and others on the specialty forums are packed with people getting interviews. I, for one, will be checking the IM forums nonstop for the next 3 months.

Congrats to all who have interviews.

I got my first acknowledgement today. Applying for anesthesia, they said they had received my file and will wait for the Dean's letter to make a decision. I'm a bit dissappointed and nervous. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but this is a program I was certain would offer me an interview. I don't know if this is a way for them to stall or do they really wait for the Dean's list for everyone.
 
Does the Deans letter come out on Nov 1st or earlier for some people??
 
I had 3 letters in, application, transcript, USMLE transcript...basically everything except MSPE and my 4th letter.

i'm not even at interview invite stage, but anyone have ucsd, ucla, or ucsf download their apps for IM?

UCSF and UCLA have downloaded my app for prelim medicine...but UCSD hasn't downloaded anything yet...but who knows if they do their prelim and categorical differently...apparently they probably do. Good Luck!
 
both UCSF and UCLA download my IM app yesterday. (Categorical)
 
peds is already offering invites. i have a friend who has gotten them.

alas, i'm going to have to wait probably until october for any hint of an interview invite.

I received confirmation e-mail from PM&R at Jefferson that said they will try to "respond" to me w/i 5 business days.
 
Finally....something....a very drab but appreciated acknowledgement from Hopkins stating they're gonna wait until Dean's Letters in Nov before they give interviews....at least it's something 🙄
 
Woot, first interview today! Transitional program, via email. 😀
 
DreamLover, I got the same message from JH. I guess they send it to everyone. 🙄
 
Fozzy40. I too got the mass email from Thomas Jefferson regarding PM&R...I'm still damn excited though.
 
I received two more invites yesterday. I have now heard from all five programs I applied to and have interviews set up at each.
