Should we expect a break in interview invites until after the new year as schools go on break for the holidays or historically have committees continued sending out invites in late November and December?
Never seen such clear stats about IIs. Is this coming from MSAR or the SDN II tracker or some other source? Just curious.Historically 75% of the interview invites are sent out by end of November.
Another 25% still remains and starts tapering off, usual split would be 9% december, 9% january, 5% February, 2% march.
Interesting to see, if this will be different in the COVID affected year, especially with virtual interviews making the scenario different.
It's certainly not from last year's interview tracker, which suggested that 95% were out by the end of November. I think this might be a little high but probably isn't too far off.Never seen such clear stats about IIs. Is this coming from MSAR or the SDN II tracker or some other source? Just curious.
The SDN / Reddit interview tracker can't be used for any meaningful statistics or conclusions. Hardly representative of the actual numbers (just like the people posting here on SDN). I think @LaughingGas10 and @wya2020 were referring to trackers on MD school's own websites? It's certainly not from last year's interview tracker, which suggested that 95% were out by the end of November. I think people exaggerate the inaccuracies of the tracker but fair enough. It certainly holds true for Michigan for which even more interviews have gone out by this point https://medicine.umich.edu/medschoo...cker/UMHS11838_5YearAdmissInfographic2020.pdfThe SDN / Reddit interview tracker can't be used for any meaningful statistics or conclusions. I would love to be proven wrong from more school specific data, because I'm also interested in this question (and wanting more interviews).
Yea, this year is definitely different for many schools. Toledo hasn't even started giving out interviews. I just haven't seen historical data suggesting that there are a lot of interviews still given out after this point.UMich so far, has only sent out about 2/3 of their interviews, which is more than half, but they're not close to being done, considering they have only been sending out 10-15 interviews per week.
I don't think you can expect anything based on prior cycles due to the unique nature of this cycle. Remember, normal school breaks go from the middle of December until the middle of January, not from Thanksgiving until after New Year. This year, some people are working from home, and most schools with live instruction are sending students home this week until January, but that doesn't mean work, or classes, will be stopping.Should we expect a break in interview invites until after the new year as schools go on break for the holidays or historically have committees continued sending out invites in late November and December?
yes, mostly based on medical school websites and internal trackers. As I mentioned in my reply, this is likely going to be different this year because of COVID, and also virtual interviewsThe SDN / Reddit interview tracker can't be used for any meaningful statistics or conclusions.
