I did use the search function, but SDN is so biased towards "early apps" that this has not been covered before. 😉
every school is different. UCLA interviews pretty late methinks.
i'm in roughly the same boat as you. 13 schools haven't said boo to me yet, i'm wishing and hoping.

Yeah, except 11 schools haven't invited me, yet.
that's what i meant too. i'm complete at 13 and they havent invited or rejected me.
I think I'm toast at almost every school I haven't heard from.
I might still hear from USC since they interview into April and have actually rejected people pre-secondary.
But at most places, if you haven't heard back by Feb. 1, you can assume rejection.
Oh yeah, and I guess I could still get invited to Stanford.
They say that they invite people from July through March.
But I'm not holding my breath.

No, Gerhart doesn't have a 3.8 in Econ.
He's in Management Science and Engineering. It's the closest thing to a Business major. I think I saw on the Sun Bowl that he had a 3.4 or something.
But yes, I think he plays center field for the baseball team.

But like I said, I think I'm gonzo-alonso at 8 of them.
I feel the same way. I might have a chance at an interview at 2-3 of the remaining schools, but otherwise, I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of them were rejections.
+1. Still waiting on 8. Just got rejected from one this afternoon. At least 4-5 stop extending interview invites this month. This leads me to believe that all but maybe 1 will be a rejection. Ah well, I'm more than happy with what I got. Time to focus on finances...

so far i've had 7 rejections, 4 interviews, and im still waiting to hear from 7 more. i started off the new year with a rejection so i'm definitely not expecting much, maybe 1 or 2 interviews...POSSIBLY. from what i hear, it's definitely getting late cuz a lot of schools r already scheduling march interviews now. don't give up hope yet tho. if you have any grade and activity updates, now might be a good time to send those in before schools make their final decisions.

Applying early is probably good, however, all my friends who applied early are still waiting on 8-10 schools still.
Me? I have 10 more left 🙂 Fingers crossed!!!! I'm just expecting like 10 rejections all in one day hahahahah 🙂

i don't really want to send grade updates... my last semester was a little rough, took too many upperdiv bio classes at once (B- in a cancer class, yikes!). do they care so much about upper division?
I could update them on my research though i guess....

Well I just got an interview invite 3 days ago. My one and only
. I'm hoping for a couple more since i was small pooled at 2 other schools but i'm not too optimistic despite calling all schools i haven't heard from. Apparently, I am still under review or being re-reviewed and will hear something between now and the end of April. Thanks, because I couldn't figure that out myself.... They gave me a range all in February. The week of the 14th is off (maybe break?)

So is this a good time for those Letters of Intent? Do you gus suggest emailing them or mailing them in?
Are your letters of intent post-interview or pre-interview? It is never too early, in my opinion, to send a LOI. After all, they could toss you any day, and a well-written LOI might make the difference.
Pretty sure Letters of Intest are for post-interview, while Letters of Interest or Update Letters are for pre-interview.
But regardless, I think it can't hurt your application to send Letters of Interest.
