I know that it is program and specialty dependent but when should we expect to start receiving interview invites? Will it be different this year with the change in date of the MSPE letter release? Will programs send invites if applications aren't compete, I.e. deans letter, LOR, etc. I'll hang up and listen. Thanks.

I don't see any reason that programs that didn't used to wait for the MSPE, or all 3 or 4 LORs, will magically start to do so this year.

Back in the day (7 years ago), I got my first interview on the day ERAS opened (9/1 that year) and my last interview offer at the end of January.

The only real difference this year is that the interview offer bolus that happened the first week of November will now happen the third week of October.

Yep. It's dependent on the program and specialty. I received interview invites within days of ERAS opening up to programs. I had my LORs in but obviously not the MSPE yet. It's all program dependent.

Well, I don't think it would be "magical." If I were a PD, I might have sent out interview offers after September 1 last year rather than waiting two months... but now that it's only a two-week difference, I might be happy to wait until all application materials are in. But that's just me.
