Hi!!!

Preparing for my interview day!! Just wanted to get some tips for preparing and insights on the clothing expectations. Is business formal the dress code? Is it like a suit or blazer and dress pants?

Just a first gen trying to figure it out!!!

Thanks!

Male or female?

Thank you!!!!
Female!

Most interviews these days are on zoom so we'll only see you from the waist up. A shell or blouse with a blazer or suit jacket is the most prevalent look. You can choose a skirt or pants.... in all likelihood, no one will see what you are wearing. Same goes for feet: heels, flats, sandals, barefoot. No one is likely to know.

Is anyone doing in-person interviews these days?

My first one is in-person in Yakima!

Thank you!

I'm in a very urban area and haven't had on campus interviews since 2020 but in general, for women, suit with skirt or pants, or a blazer, skirt/pants combination. Blouse or shell under the jacket. Flats or pumps, but be sure you can walk distances in them as there may be a school tour that will involve walking. Modest jewelry -- nothing distracting.

Hair should be neat and held in place so that you don't fuss with it during the interview.

Many dental schools do on-site interviews (still).
