The email said that all students will be notified by late December and that they are still going through files, so, don't give up hope!

Dog Lover, and HopefulAg I'm right there with you with MSU, KSU and ISU!! Checking email, checking spam mail...seeing those Mississippi invites really threw me off. Ohhh Decemeber will be a looong month.
 
Dont get thrown off by the MSU thing! The email said that the majority of students will find out in late December. I wouldn't stress about it! For some reason they sent out a few invites now, and in late December they will send out the bulk of them.

Just so that you know which dates to set aside, for OOS the interviews are on the 17th, and they want us there on the 16th in the afternoon.

It changed to "Interview". I know people who haven't received an interview yet, but they may very well get an invite for the January interview dates. Their status still says 'Under academic review'.

[knees knocking] Thanks for the well wishes...I will be anxious to spill the beans unless it goes :thumbdown: then it may take me a fews day to recover. But so far Im really optimistic about everything but the weather.

"Interview invitations are sent out weekly from late December through March, with at least two weeks' advance notice of the interview date. Those applicants whom we believe are less academically qualified will begin to hear from us as soon as we can determine their comparative ranking with other applicants. In short, we do not interview nor do we accept all at one time. It is a four-month process. "

Congratulations tpad40! I was in the same boat since the first interviews for Tufts started rolling in and I watched the list grow longer and longer. Better late than never, right?

I applied to TAMU, but I haven't heard from them yet. They said they would be sending out interview notices from November up until December 21. I've been trying not to panic, but they're my IS school and I'm very antsy to hear from them!!! :scared:

I applied OOS to TAMU and haven't heard anything either. We've still got a couple weeks until the 21st, I'll start worrying late next week!

Mind if I ask where you applied that doesn't interview OOS or at all? I'm just curious and I swear the schools that don't interview are making me the most anxious because it's either yes or no! Ahhhh!
 
I applied to TAMU, but I haven't heard from them yet. They said they would be sending out interview notices from November up until December 21. I've been trying not to panic, but they're my IS school and I'm very antsy to hear from them!!!

I didnt' hear from TAMU last year until December 15th. I don't know why I heard (and interviewed) so early this year but I'm kind of glad I did. Had my interview today and thought it went well. So no more worries on that front.

So one interview off the worry list (or well, delegated instead onto the post-interview 'I wish I hadn't of said 'X'' list), 3 more left to even hear about...

Wow.. this thread was super confusing to a first timer. I get it now.. The dates you got your acceptance email and your interview date right? Awesome... Hopefully one day I can be on a list :) Congratulations to Everyone!

Before or after the interview? They gave them to me after but I doubt they'd give them before.

bunnyslippers: I also applied to Oklahoma & Oregon which to my knowledge do not do OOS interviews (If I am wrong on this, please correct me! I just couldn't find any OOS interview info on their websites/brochures). Then I applied to Colorado and Wisconsin neither of which are conducting interviews.

I really need to get it through my head that application status pages will NOT be updated on the weekend!! It is just SO easy to obsessively check them over and over (ahem, Iowa and IL!)

Looking at last year's acceptance thread got me a bit worried. I set up my Ohio interview for the last week (January) because that is what worked best for me. But it seems that people were accepted just days after their interview last year. Did I screw myself over by choosing a late date to interview?? I mean, if they are accepting people before I even interview, the spots available are being filled and giving me a lesser chance of getting in.

I just don't see how this is fair and I'm really upset with myself right now. Thoughts??

They only accept people with above a certain score. As the interviews progress they adjust what that score is based on what people have been getting. You didn't hurt your changes, you'll just probably have less of a wait time between an interview and hearing whether or not you got in.

The girl that I know who got accepted right after her interview was pretty much a sure thing in my opinion (4.0, tons of varied experienced, awesome gre). They probably already pretty much knew that they were going to accept her before she even showed up. I don't think you should be worried about having a later interview date. They've done this for years and I think that most likely they can recognize certain people as being at the top of the bunch (like her) even before all of the interviews are done so why not accept them before they are done.... even though it makes the rest of us feel like we're getting less of a chance.
 
Thanks ri and bunnyslippers, that makes sense and makes me feel a little better. Not much I can do about it anyway!
