Here are some questions that were bothering me. I'm wondering if anyone else has these questions or can answer them:

1) how close together or far apart should you schedule your interviews? Can you do them on consecutive days or would this be too much?

2) Anyone encountered programs where you're given a choice of interview types? I had one where the choice was between observational and traditional but there wasn't a lot of info on the observational type.

3) (answer may be obvious): is it okay to do an interview at a program during your away rotation there?

Would love to hear people's thoughts on this. Current applicants and residents - please reply!

Here are some questions that were bothering me. I'm wondering if anyone else has these questions or can answer them:

1) how close together or far apart should you schedule your interviews? Can you do them on consecutive days or would this be too much?

Its up to you. If you are traveling and the interviews are in near-by towns you could save some on a hotel if you needed only one night.

Then again, you may find that its not that easy to schedule the, when YOU want because programs have schedules for interviews. In addition, your medical school may require you to do your interviews in a certain period.

If you have to travel by plane, especially during winter, you are better off leaving yourself plenty of time between interviews. Delays are frequent as are cancellations especially if you are traveling in the Midwest or Northeast.

But only you can tell whether you will be too tired to do them consecutively if you think you can handle the travel arrangements.

Never heard of that. Most interview days are rigorously scheduled with little opportunity for candidate options.

3) (answer may be obvious): is it okay to do an interview at a program during your away rotation there?

Many programs prefer this; others prefer you come back at a later date. Ask when you are there.
